MINERVA ARIAS, PhDc, MPA, RYT-550, AWC
Minerva is a queer Afro-Latina femme who loves to create and hold space for holistic healing designed to get us free and break internalized chains, both individually and collectively. Her experiences as a priestess in her ancestral practice of Ifa and her explorations of the psychology of yoga, the philosophy of meditation and the science of Ayurveda led her down a path towards the creation of Roots Healing. She is consistently engaged in her own growth, truth-seeking, and becoming the best version of herself (for herself, first) so she can show up for others in a way that continues the work of dismantling generational trauma.
Born and raised in “the Heights” in NYC, to a Puerto Rican mother and a Dominican father during the peak of the crack era politicized Minerva before she even knew what the word politics meant. To say she is passionate about guiding her people to discover their innate healing capabilities, as well as understanding joy, laughter, and love as forms of resistance is an understatement. You can find her teaching a Sacred Flow™ yoga class, guiding meditation, offering Ayurvedic consultations, building ancestral altars, leading retreats and courses on the Sacred Ritual™, and working with clients 1:1 to guide them back home to themselves. A devoted feminist of the Diaspora and a yoga mat souljah, Minerva believes a new world is possible and it must be born from a place of love.
