She offers Ava and Mark a place to stay for the night, but they politely decline. Ava feels bad about leaving the girl alone, waiting for her mother, but they have to continue their trek. They are really close to California now.

A storm is approaching. Kylie, Jay, and Ambridge find an abandoned home that they decide to use for cover. After exploring the house to make sure it's vacant, they sit at the dinner table and share past experiences with family. It seems like they may actually have a comfortable night in store. After their bout with a malnourished bear, Ava and Mark pack their things and search for the missing horses. Eventually they stumble upon Blue, grazing. They now have transport out of the woods, but things may not be that easy. When Ava and Mark find a large convoy of people heading north, they discover the forest may still hold some not-so-nice surprises.

Here it is! The Season 3 finale!!

Ambridge is enjoying his stay at the quarantine zone. He's been helping Mia and Roger gather supplies and move people back, deeper into the woods. But this has left Jay on his own. Jay's been preparing for life on the road, but he still needs a car if he plans on making it all the way to California. After listening to another one of Preacher Smith's rants, Jay gets a crazy idea.

Mark is furious to find that Stephanie has left Ava behind, even though she claims Ava told her to. Mark wants to go back for her, but because it's dark and Madison has been bitten, Stephanie refuses. But that doesn't stop Mark, who takes matters into his own hands.

Jay is then put in a position that he was hoping wouldn't arise. Can he make the hard choice?

Ambridge, Harris, and Jay continue west. After a bunch of meandering, they decide to stop at a rest stop for the night. The only two people they see are a middle-aged couple living out of their RV. The couple invites the group over for some pie, which Ambridge finds odd. It's a different world now and they have to be careful who they trust.

Ava and Mark are spared their lives, but all their supplies, along with their truck, are now gone. Both Ava and Mark are at a loss for what to do. Mark gives Ava some options which ultimately leads them back to the crazy farmers. They plan on getting their stuff back, but obviously, things aren't that simple.

Jay and Ambridge are surrounded and hungover. Shriekers swarm the area. Luckily for Jay and Ambridge, before the creatures can break in, a group of armed men arrive and open fire. Ambridge recognizes one of the men and realizes that he has found the needle in the haystack.

It doesn't take long for Miguel to freak out and leave Ava and Mark. To avoid Columbus and the hovering craft, Ava and Mark take some side roads and continue west. At night, they take refuge at a campground where they discover that humans aren't the only things being attacked by the alien menace.
