We're back! We return from our holiday break to predict what might happen to music in the year ahead, including our most anticipated albums of 2025. Let's goooo.
After a few episodes of celebrating, it's time to cap the year off with some hating. Ian Cohen joins us once again for our annual Biggest Disappointments episode, tackling the albums that let us down most in 2024.
It's here. All four of us count down our 10 favorite albums of 2024. Let's goooo!
What's your favorite album of the year? Vote here: https://t.co/8YIp9p1d1V
Eli, Eric, Miranda, and Michael discuss their five favorite songs of the year -- and also throw out some honorable mentions. Can you guess what the first-ever single to be inducted into the Endless Scroll 4x4 playlist will be?

It's our first episode of list season! In this one, we talk about our favorite non-2024 music that we either discovered or got heavily into in 2024. Producer Cayla joins us to make it extra special.
It's our last regular-season main feed episode before the post-season (list season) begins, so we're just kind of hangin' and chattin'. We revisit our 2024 predictions and see what we got wrong/right, recount our favorite gigs of the year, and bask in the serenity of casual banter before our series of Super Serious Year-End List Episodes kick off next week. Enjoy!
With all four of us back in the house, we reveal the winner of our latest draft episode, answer a phone call, and then talk about albums that each of us like more than the general consensus. Artists discussed include Death Cab For Cutie, The Menzingers, Lorde, The Front Bottoms, and more.
It's the end of the month so we took some time to chat about what we listened to throughout October. The new Halsey album 'The Great Impersonator' is first on the docket, but we also dig into Christopher Owens, Kelly Lee Owens, Tyler, the Creator, Tisakorean, Being Dead, Greg Mendez and more.

It's a spooky season movie ep! Sam of Mister Goblin joins Michael and Miranda to discuss the horror thriller Green Room. Tap in.
That's right, it's another draft episode. In this one, we're building teams of albums released in 2014, and it's up to you to decide which host won. Join our Discord server for just $1/month to cast your vote https://www.patreon.com/endlessscrollpod
It's a classic diametrically opposed albums review ep. First, we tackle Touché Amoré's new record 'Spiral in a Straight Line.' Then, we dig into Charli XCX's 'Brat' remix album.
In response to Pitchfork and Paste's lists of the 100 Best Albums of the 2020s So Far, we made our own half-decade top 10s. We talk about each other's picks, and also the albums that, perhaps surprisingly, didn't appear on any of our lists.
Subscribe to the Endless Scroll substack to read Miranda's top 10 later this week: https://endlessscroll.substack.com/
It's a full-house ep! Our Culture editor Konstantinos Pappis joins us to review new albums by Drug Church, Wild Pink, and Geordie Greep.
First, we review new albums from Merce Lemon and Trace Mountains. Then, we do our September wrap-up by commenting on some other releases we listened to over the last month: Nilüfer Yanya, julie, Toro y Moi, Combat, Nala Sinephro, Floating Points, and more.
We spend an episode looking back on the year 2017. Revisiting our favorite albums from then, remembering some guys/gals, and thinking about what holds up vs. what doesn't seven years onward.

It's here. We did it. All four hosts listened to all five Fiona Apple records and then we shared our impressions. Were there disagreements? Was a new 4x4 unlocked? Listen to find out.
In this ep, we answer our first-ever Endless Scroll voicemail! Then, we give each other song and album-related prompts as a way to discuss a wide variety of music. Questions like, "What song encapsulates the feeling of being 22?" "Best song under a minute?" "A song that reminds you of high-school?" Stuff like that.
In this triplicate of album reviews, we discuss new records by MJ Lenderman, Foxing, and Midwife.
It's time for our monthly wrap-up. We review new albums from Wishy, Horse Jumper of Love, Combat, DJ Sabrina the Teenage DJ, Tinashe, Ex-Pilots, and more.
It's a smorgasbord episode. We do Chappel Roan discourse, bemoan the American Football house Airbnb, and react to Ronnie Radke suing Anthony Fantano. Then, we do a first impression review of the new Sabrina Carpenter album, 'Short n' Sweet.'
It's a new music episode. We review new albums from Spirit of the Beehive, Magdalena Bay, and Oso Oso. Plus, discussion of Addison Rae's "Diet Pepsi" and a post-mortem for the Song of the Summer that was/wasn't.
This week is a two-parter. First, we go deep on the first new Charly Bliss album in five years, 'Forever.' Then, per a $10 patron request, we reminisce about the 2007-2011 era of the VH1 Top 20 Countdown.

It's a fellas episode. Michael and Eli dive into the discography of Stone Temple Pilots, reviewing their first five albums and marveling at their bizarre evolution.
We also react to Apple Music's top 100 albums list, which wasn't complete when we recorded this ep, so you'll have to see if our predictions were right.
The year is halfway over, so Eric, Eli and Michael run through their top 10 albums of 2024 so far.
As announced at the top of the ep, we'll be taking July off to rest and rejuvenate. We'll be flipping bonus episodes into the main feed every Monday, so if you're not a Patreon subscriber then you'll still be receiving new content. From Lumpy and the Dumpers going indie-pop and Hank Wood and the Hammerheads going....somewhere, to the RJC/Militarie Gun and Trapped Under Ice/Angel Du$t dichotomies, we cover a wide range of bands on this ep.

In this episode, we tackle the 2013 album to end all 2013 albums, Because The Internet by Childish Gambino. Is it the OK Computer of rap? Is it good? We get to the bottom of these questions and more.

Bit of an unconventional opening, but once we get going, it's off to the races with reviews of Faye Webster's new album 'Underdressed at the Symphony' and Mannequin Pussy's new record 'I Got Heaven.' Lots of thoughts on and around both.

This is a bonus episode we originally published on our Patreon in October 2023. Now available for all to hear.

We're joined by Camp Trash member, music writer, and former youth pastor Keegan Bradford (@FranziaMom) for a dive into the alien universe of Christian Rock. We talk Tooth and Nail, Christian metalcore, P.O.D., Reliant K, and how the idiom went from halfway decent (Starflyer 59) to total dogshit (Skillet) in the span of a couple decades.

We did an episode on The Dismemberment Plan! In classic 'Scroll fashion, two of us weren't familiar with this band and the other two are longtime fans. We talk about their classic albums, what makes them so beloved, how a band as odd as them became indie-rock icons, and why some of us find them so goddamn irritating.
Friend of the pod Grace Robins-Somerville joins us for a discussion about Neutral Milk Hotel. We go in on the band's music, their legacy, Elephant Six, canonical indie-rock, and more.
It's a three-part ep. First, we have our obligatory discussion about Pitchfork's recent gutting. Then, we review the new Katy Kirby album, 'Blue Raspberry.' Finally, we pull out our Bandomizer game and debate the best/worst albums from a bunch of our favorite artists.
The Jimmy Journey — our quest to listen to every Jimmy Eat World album — continues onward, though the road gets bumpy on 'Chase This Light' and 'Invented.'
We also talk about new songs from Waxahatchee and Faye Webster, and reveal the winner of our Christmas Songs draft.
Happy new year, Scrollers! We're back to discuss stuff we're excited about. Stuff we want to see. Stuff we want to stop.
For our last episode of 2023, we did a draft of Christmas songs. It's a fun game, but also an excuse for us to talk about our favorite xmas tunes.

You asked us questions. We answered them. What does "normie" mean? Thoughts on Strange Ranger? Pre-2000s bands we discovered this year? What kind of band would Endless Scroll be? And more. #Letitrock
Another month has come to pass, so we talk about what we've been listening to. Thoughts on Squirell Flower, Truth Club, Troye Sivan, Ken Carson, Sun June and more. Digressions include the state of vinyl and the movie 'It Follows'.
We did another draft! This time, we drafted albums from 2000-2004, and the categories were much more narrow and challenging than the ones in our 90s album draft. Listen along to hear us create our teams, and then head over to our Discord channel to vote on who you think won. This week, we welcome Jeremy Bolm (Touche Amore, The First Ever Podcast) onto the pod to discuss Canadian indie rock heroes The Weakerthans. We get into why people love them, what their impact has been on modern punk music, whether they're emo and much more!
Folks, it happened. Michael Brooks took control of the Endless Scroll terminals and conducted a Wilco podcast with the help of esteemed guests, Shawn Cooke and Ethan Beck.
These three Tweedy birds reviewed the band's latest album 'Cousin' and then did a full-on Wilco song draft. For the heads, by the heads. No Eli. No Eric. No Miranda. No masters.
September was a busy month for new music, so we recapped some new shit we listened to. Slow Pulp, Slaughter Beach Dog, Chappell Roan, Yeule and much more.
We're joined by The Chillwave Enjoyer to talk about the deadbeat summer of 2009, internet genres, the big three (Neon Indian, Toro Y Moi, Washed Out), what killed chillwave, who kept it alive, & more.
The Chillwave playlist mentioned in the episode: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3KwbsvTAZGCS0alFxjS32K?si=36ff2ee1c1144859
We review Olivia Rodrigo's 'Guts' and vent about some of the irksome writing/dialogue around it. We also talk about the new Angel Du$t record! But most importantly, Michael introduces a new sketch, The Michael Minute, where he shares his takes on some records we've recently talked about without him on the pod. Packed ep. Let's go.
First, we catch up on some recent live music we've seen. Then, we go deep on new albums by Mitski and Vagabon.
Happy Labor Day! We're talking the new Jeff Rosenstock album! The new Armed album! The new Mannequin Pussy song! And whatever else we've been listening to throughout August.
We review the new Ratboys album, 'The Window.' Then, we examine a growing anxiety among major label types that new artists are harder to "break" than ever. That leads to a winding discussion about music, the internet and where those two things intersect. Cool? Cool.
This week we're joined by Matt Scottoline from Hurry to discuss power pop. What it is, what it's not, why all the kids are talking about it and much more!
Check out the new album from Hurry here! https://hurrymusic.com/album/dont-look-back
Miranda and Eli talk to music journalist Michael Tedder about his new book, 'Top Eight: How MySpace Changed Music.' We discuss the unique charms of Myspace, music culture on the internet then vs. now, third-wave emo (and beyond), and much more.

With Eric and Miranda out for the week, Michael and Eli bring in Chris Keough from Barely March to discuss all things Rivers Cuomo and Weezer. Write in to let us know how YOU feel about Maladroit!
Eric, Michael and Miranda talked about Madonna, among other things. But mostly Madonna.
Hey everyone! It's been a wild month for us Endless Scroll co-hosts. We've all been traveling a lot. Our producer, Cayla, has especially been traveling a lot. We realize we haven't put out a new main feed episode in a month (the longest gap in Endless Scroll history!) and we apologize for that!
But guess what? We're back. We have bunch of awesome new episodes recorded throughout July that we'll be doling out over the next few weeks, so you'll be getting more new Endless Scroll content than ever in August. Starting with this episode.
In this one, Michael, Miranda and Eli talk about new music from Loma Prieta, The Menzingers, MJ Lenderman, Taking Meds and more. Then, we take a look at Pitchfork's "Songs of the Summer" list, comment on some of their choices, and then share our own songs of Summer 2023.
Thanks for all the support as always. Enjoy!
The Militarie Gun album is here, and we have thoughts. Many thoughts! We also review the new Sweeping Promises record. Then, we have a ball playing a new game called Scrolltiple Choice. Bing, bang, boom.
The year is halfway over, so we each shared our 10 favorite projects of the year so far. Some divergence, but also a 4x4 in the mix!
This week, Eli, Eric and Michael talk about the recent weddings they went to and discuss what type of music is best and worst suited for celebrations of romantic union. Then, they review the new Feeble Little Horse album.
This week, in Michael's absence, we tackle a collection of songs from a decade of pop-punk crossover. From Lit to American Hi-Fi to The Academy Is... to We The Kings, we're talking songs Miranda likes more than everybody else.
This week, Miranda recounts seeing Jeff Rosenstock's recent NYC show, and then we talk about his new single and tour. Then, we review the new Bully record and wade into the latest Jack Harlow album. Is it any better than last year's flop? Listen to find out.
Yeah....we did a Dimes Square music ep. Talked about The Dare, a bunch of faceless NYC artists trying to do 2001 again, and the new Water From Your Eyes album.
Eric and Miranda attended the Eras Tour, so they talk about that wild experience along with some obligatory Taylor Takes. Then, we talk about a bunch of new songs by Strange Ranger, Home Is Where, Chris Farren, Spiritual Cramp and more.
This week the four of us are all back together for the first time in a bit and we're back on the Jimmy Journey! This week we're tackling iconic 9/11 album Bleed American. We are so back.
Eric, Eli and Michael talk about the best (and most mid) stuff they heard in April, including reviews of Indigo De Souza, Liquid Mike, Rae Sremmurd and more. Digressions include: whaaaat is up with Superdrag? And some recap of our Endless Scroll Summit.

We were asked to talk about the band M83. We recorded this the day before their new album came out, so we don't talk about that. But we do talk about three of their classic LP's, and it somehow ended up being one of our most heated discussions in a while!
This episode was originally posted on our bonus feed in March. Subscribe to our Patreon to get all our weekly bonus episodes, access to our Discord server and more: https://www.patreon.com/endlessscrollpod
One of our $10 patrons requestsed that Michael pick an episode topic on whatever the hell he wants. So he made us listen to Sturgill Simpson's 'Metamodern Sounds in Country Music.'
Eli's out so Michael, Miranda and Eric talk about Frank Ocean, Jai Paul, leaked albums, what we'll be doing in Philadelphia this weekend and more.
After 199 episodes of our perfect indie rock podcast, we finally give you what you all need most... Advice! We've got you covered on everything from how to deal with dating straight men to how to know when you don't have anything to say about an album. Thanks for listening. Here's to 200 more years of Endless Scroll.
We're joined by writer Grace Robins-Somerville to talk about new albums by Boygenius and Wednesday. Also, we prod Grace with questions about her music taste and talk about how and why we land on certain things. A classic episode of Endless Scroll.
Subscribe to Grace's new Substack https://ourbandcouldbeyourwife.substack.com/
Q1 of the year is complete, so we talk about our favorite 2023 music thus far.
We talk about the new 100 gecs album, '10,000 gecs.' Which leads us to a conversation about hyperpop and what (inevitably) happens when subculture brushes with the mainstream.
We're flipping our recent bonus episode about Skrillex onto the main feed! Producer Cayla joins us to talk about his unique rise to fame, influence on 2010s pop culture, his pair of new albums and more.
A $10 patron asked us to talk about Coldplay, so we figured that was one for the main feed. We focus on their first five records, and then the one co-host who accidentally listened to *all* the Coldplay records for this assignment weighs in on their recent ventures.
We talk about a bunch of new music from February. Avey Tare, Bigxthaplug, Growing Pains, Yo La Tengo, Militarie Gun and much more.
We review the new Caroline Polachek album. Then, we throw a bunch of our fav artists in a randomizer and argue about their best/worst albums. Jeff Rosenstock, Beach House, The National, and more are discussed. Finally, we play a bit of Which Band is Gayer?
We review the new Paramore record, discuss cancerous standom, rant about the state of music journalism, and talk chat about the new Pile album :-)
We talked about bands that feature musicians who went on to become more popular with their next acts. It was just an excuse for a free-range discussion about a lot of different musical corners. Plus, we talked about some recent live shows we've seen. PLUS, we introduce a new game called Which Band is Gayer? How generous, we are.
We do a quick review segment on the new Samia record. Then we talk about what we've been listening to throughout the last month. Also, Michael and Eli debate whether or not 2022 was a good year for rap. It's a smorgasbord type ep.
Fall Out Boy are back, and we have thoughts. We talk about all of their albums, their improbable longevity, what they meant to pop-culture in the 2000s, the hoard of proteges they fostered, and where they stand now.
This week, we talked about artists who only ever released one record, and how that contributes to their legacies. Why is it super normal for hardcore bands but taboo for popstars? Is quality>quantity always a good thing? Is Cardi B onto something? Stuff like that, and more.
We finally continue our long-delayed Jimmy Journey — our quest to listen to all the Jimmy Eat World records. This week, we listened to 'Clarity' and shared our thoughts. We also listened to 'Clarity' by Zedd, for some reason. Multitudes, folks.
For our first ep of the new year, we make some (mostly cursed) predictions about what 2023 will entail for music. Where's Phoebe Bridgers going? Who will Jack Antonoff taint next? Are mega-canceled bands gonna make comebacks? AI in music? All that and more.
To quote Green Day, we were "on Holiday" this week, and therefore didn't record a new ep. But before we head into 2023, we wanted to give everyone access to the first installment of Eli and Miranda's Pop Punk Squad series, where they'll be diving into various eras, micro-trends and bands of the genre's past ~15 years. This one's on neon pop-punk. Happy new year!
We closed out the year by talking 2022 ephemera. Albums we changed our minds on? Worst internet moments? New trends, good and bad? All that and more. Kinda spicy for a main feed ep!
We're joined by our producer Cayla to talk about our favorite non-2022 music that we got into this year. Weird SoundCloud shit, obscure 90s bands, legendary titans of rock. The gamut is run.
At long last, it has arrived. We each count down our 10 favorite albums of 2022. Shocking reveals ensue.
Vote in our AOTY listener's poll: https://bit.ly/3VYBHTs
We talk about the albums from this year that disappointed us most. We're joined by Ian Cohen. Also, Cayla freaked it on the greatest/most cursed name read in our show's history.
It's here, folks. We begin our end-of-the-year series by sharing each of our five favorite songs of 2022. As always, we surprise each other with our picks.
We did another mailbag episode — err, wait, sorry. We're legally prohibited from calling it that...Let's try this again. We did another episode where we answered questsions from our listeners. It was a lot of fun. Enjoy. (And don't sue us, Indiecast)
First, we share our humble thoughts on new albums by Taylor Swift and Dazy. Second, we look back on the best music we heard throughout October 2022. Yeah, that's pretty much it. Now get listenin'!
In ~2013, The 1975 and Arctic Monkeys both achieved Tumblr supremacy and became the new bashtions of modern rock. On their 2022 albums, their creative paths have wildly diverted. In this ep, we talk about the era when they became teen-adored forces, how their music has evolved since, and whether their new records are any good. Many digressions ensue.
This week, without Eli to steer the ship, Eric, Miranda, and Michael have a free-flowing discussion of what makes a niche popstar. By looking at the careers of Tove Lo, Charli XCX, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Robyn, we discuss the nature of pop fame, which of their songs made it to the straight community, and why some are held in higher regard than others.
We start out this week with a friendly game of Would You Rather? Then, we review the new Frankie Cosmos album. Finally, we go way deep on Wild Pink's new record.
This week, we reflect on the roster of a failed and defunct indie label that curated some of the greatest underground rock artists of the 2010s.
We begin this episode with a discussion about Pitchfork's 250 Best Songs of the 1990s list. Who is this for? What function does it serve? Then, we talk about some of our favorite albums from September, including reviews of new records by The Wonder Years and The Beths.
Folks, there's a new Alex G album out as of today, so of course, we're going deep on it. We go track-by-track on the new tunes and ask where everyone comes down on Alex G in general. Plus, Eli discusses a low-quality cassette he recently purchased, and asks "what do we expect from a cassette tape?" Eric's review of God Save the Animals in Paste Magazine: https://www.pastemagazine.com/music/alex-g/god-save-the-animals-album-review/
Built to Spill put out their first album in seven years, so we dove in head-first. Reviewed the record, shared our varying opinions on their discography, and then launched into a broader discussion about what makes an indie band a "legacy act" vs. an "active band who've been around for a minute."

We're off this week as two of our hosts move and another is traveling, but enjoy this unlocked bonus episode. Recorded back in May, Eric, Michael, and Miranda spent time with Sufjan Stevens' heartbreaking 2015 album Carrie and Lowell. It's a really fun and lovely conversation about a beautiful record. We hope you enjoy
In this freewheeling episode of Endless Scroll, we examine the new Taylor Swift announcement, the VMAs, and where they fit into society without a monoculture. Plus, our favorite music from August. Michael gives out his gamer tag on air, Eli learns what PUBG is, Miranda talks about Cake, and Eric reveals their hours logged in Stardew Valley. It's a good time.
We start this week's show interrogating a song we think is bad. Then, we have a lengthy conversation about the way forums like Rate Your Music and /mu affect the canonization of music and inform people's taste. Music, the internet, and where those two things intersect bay-beeee.
This week, we tackle the catalog of Sub Pop Records. Specifically, how the label's sound has changed through each decade, what it means to be an Indie Rock Institution, 2000s indie vs. 90s indie, the function labels like Sub Pop serve today, and our favorite records they've ever put out.
This week we look back at some bands who Had A Moment.
On this week's episode, we dive back into our mailbag and answer listener questions on everything from album sequencing to our "celebrity" encounters. Plus, our takes on Beyoncé's Rennaisance.
This week, we discuss the new singles from dreamo-turned-vibe mongers Turnover, and wonder what's going on over there. Then, we review the new Florist album. Lastly, we each plug some of our favorite records we heard in July. It's a packed ep!
This week, your four favorite buckaroos take on the music of country-pop icons, The Chicks. We talk about two of their albums and several singles, interrogate the sound and vibe of Nineties country, and wonder whether any modern artist could be genuinely cancelled the way The Chicks were for speaking out against the Iraq War. Plus, some 1975 chatter.
A patron of the show asked that we talk about Radiohead. However, Radiohead’s discography is far too complicated for a simple rundown of each record. Instead, we brought in an expert to discuss the band more broadly. We’re joined this week by UPROXX’s Cultural Critic and the author of This Isn’t Happening: Radiohead’s Kid A and the Beginning of the 21st Century, Steven Hyden. With Steve, we discuss how our experiences with the band vary, their legacy, and where we see their influence on music today.
Steve has a new book out in September about Pearl Jam. You can find out more and preorder it here.
This week, Eric, Eli, and Michael look back at June in music by each discussing an album they liked from the last month. Plus, they review the new album from Soccer Mommy and play an Alex G themed game to celebrate his new single.
It's our Albums of the Year (So Far) episode for 2022! We did things differently this time, though, and included music that didn't come out this year, but that we're just getting into in 2022.
Following Eli's controversial tweet that The Sidekicks are "the most overrated underrated band," we decided to dive into the cult-adored indie-punk group to explore the music they made and the lasting impact they've had on the world they came from. We're joined by returning guest Mo Troper, singer-songwriter, power-pop pundit and longtime Sidekicks-head.
The title says it all this week, folks. Since albums from '97 turn 25 this year, we went through and picked three of our favorites each and talked about why we like them.

Then, we each pick some of our favorite maligned pop songs; Songs that aren't quite guilty pleasures, we know they're bad, but we like them anyway.
Hello! We had recorded an episode with a guest we know you all like this week, but due to technical difficulties, that episode won't be out until next month. Instead, this week's episode is an unlocked one from our bonus feed. Here is its original description: We're back with another bonus episode! This time we're here to discuss the discography of Arctic Monkeys. Some are revisiting, some are experiencing for the very first time, some are telling anecdotes about their ex boyfriends. You guess who is who. We also discuss: the death of The It Girl, spelling in songs, Alex Turner's greasy vibe, and much much more!
Originally recorded as a bonus episode, Miranda, Eli and Michael's dive into the Wonder Years was just too damn good to hold from the main feed. The two pop-punk Defenders and Michael, a Suppy dilettante, ventured back to the band's "first" three albums, commenting on what they meant at the time to the scene and ourselves, and analyzing how they hold up now. Get stoked on it!!

On this week's classic episode of Endless Scroll, we're not doing a new album review, nor are we discussing the music industry. No, this week we're joining the Anniversary piece industrial complex and talking about our favorite albums from 2002. Each host has chosen one pop record, one indie record, and one wildcard to talks about them. Happy 20th anniversary, things from 2002.

See if you can guess who is who!
Welcome to the Endless Scroll office Christmas party. Rather than give each other the impersonal gifts of a white elephant swap, we put our spin on Secret Santa.
