In this special English-language episode of Entertainmentlaw, the usual host Jakob Plesner Mathiasen is joined by co-host Tue Goldschmieding, partner at Gorrissen Federspiel, to discuss the role of legal tech and AI.
AI legal tech has the potential to enhance the quality and efficiency of legal professionals’ work by enabling faster data processing, optimizing workflows, and even assisting in answering more complex legal questions. With the latest developments in AI, there has been tremendous progress in this area in a short time. However, AI legal tech also raises several questions of a legal, regulatory, security, and ethical nature.
We have invited two representatives of Scandinavia's leading AI legal tech services to the studio. These are Max Junestrand, CEO and co-founder of the Swedish AI service Leya, and Michael Herbing, Nordic AI Content Lead from Karnov Group (which has developed the AI service KAILA).
We discuss how AI legal tech can assist lawyers and legal professionals in their daily work by providing practical solutions and use cases. The conversation also adresses, among other things:
• Challenges, such as hallucination, as seen in cases from the USA where improper use of AI services has led to critical issues in legal proceedings.
• Whether the output from AI services can be trusted.
• Good practical use cases for users.
This episode is relevant for anyone working with law and AI and who wants a better understanding of the (practical) potential of AI legal tech.
