Summary
In this episode, my friend for 20 years and counting, Mel and I discuss what our kid's interests can teach us. Mel is an encouraging friend, a wonderful mother, and has a beautiful mind.
We discuss dinosaurs, and questions about dinosaurs, and our kids interests are an invitation to learn alongside them! For example, I used to think legos had nothing to teach me, but I've learned a lot about city planning. Our discussion highlights the valuable insights and growth that come from engaging with and learning from their children's interests.
We also discuss our most important resource: time, and how playing with our kids teach us presence, joy, and the gift of slowing down.
She shares the beautiful lesson of "letting go of the fear of doing it perfect the first time."
Mel has been my friend for over 20 years, and actually read the very first draft of Entry Level Mom, and encouraged me to continue this project. I am so thankful for our friendship.
