Thanks to cable television, we were able to put names (and make-up) to faces. Despite being deemed less critical than the decade before it and less socially impactful than the decade after, 80s rock music still provided a much needed outlet for bands that were searching for their identity in Rock. Because of it's approach to the new, the different, the loud and at times, the absurd, everyone fit in.
