How sweet. Fresh Meat!?! That's until the meat is proven to be anything but sweet. Determined to survive the winter, two brothers with nothing, but bad ideas, decide to salvage their remain flock of lambs by slaughtering them and selling the meat. These sheep are falling one by one with an infection of Anthrax (Maybe? maybe not? No harm in NOT telling anyone about the possible risk/side effects). And in less than 24 hours The Harriet Oleson School of the Advancement of Blind Children is converted into The Harriet Oleson School of the Advancement of Blind Children and General Hospital. Doc Baker is there trying to manage the situation along with Head Nurse Hester Sue and fellow nurses...really anyone who isn't sick with the infection. Running out of time, medicine and warm weather, Charles and Jonathan Garvey are set to task with picking up supplies from the train station in neighboring Springfield and returning home. When it rains it pours....snows it blizzards (?) and Charles and Jonathan find themselves on the wrong end off a shotgun, lose their supplies and their ride home. Of course this doesn't stop them as they set out to save their family, friends and town from certain death. Was every student at the HIB sick, is that why we never saw any of them...except poor Thomas? Was Carrie really left alone at Plum Creek watching over Baby Grace this entire episode? Will everyone reconsider their meals if Mutton is served again?
