Returning home to Walnut Grove after twelve years away, Granville Whipple has had many restless nights thanks to his time in the Civil War.  Trying to get himself situated he offers music lessons and is making new friends around the area. Actually, he runs into the widow and orphaned son of his best friend who happened to have left years ago with Granville to enlist in the war. This unfortunately starts a chain of events that lead Granville down a dangerous path.   Will This Mother and Child reunion be enough to help Granville regain some sort of normalcy?  Should Laura reconsider her choice in regards to the musical instatement she wants to learn? This is Little House....so where is the happy ending?
