After years of fighting, Joe Kagan along with his manager, L.Moody, arrive in Walnut Grove. The residents see it not only as a new form of entertainment but also a possible way of winning $50. A visit to Doc Baker reveals some news that puts Joe Kagan at a crossroad. While a slow road to recovery brings a friendship between Charles and Joe, the rest of the Ingallas, and the residents of Walnut Grove.  Heading to Springfield to make a purchase on some property, Joe Kagan comes across his old manager, who abandoned him in his time of need, and now has a new fighter:  Joe Kagan's son, Tim, whom Joe hasn't seen in fourteen years.  Wanting to keep his son from following in his footsteps and to help his son get over his anger, Joe Kagan has one more fight in the ring to complete.  What sort of crops will Joe Kagan grow on his farm? After building the boxing ring, will Charles help tear it back down? Will Laura ever be the main character of an episode again in this season?
