A new kitchen extension is in the works at Plum Creek as Charles is then immediately called in for a time sensitive delivery job for Hanson and the Mill.  Although a nice cross-breeze is refreshing, this leaves Caroline with a delayed construction job and a new hole in the Little House. Enter Chris Nelson, a traveling and rather dreamy handyman who arrives at the house on a suggestion from Mr. Oleson.  His charisma is very apparent which gets some of the residents of Walnut Grove (aka Harriet Oleson) to gossip about a possible incident of infidelity.  While nothing happens....this is little house after all, that doesn't mean this rumor doesn't take root in Mary's young and impressionable mind.  And pretty soon Mary starts to question every interaction Caroline and Chris have. One late night, Mary confronts Chris about his feelings towards her mother...and the next thing the Kitchen isn't completed until Charles comes home. A story of burning Desire as only Little House on the Prairie could tell it. Where's Jonathan Garvey when you actually need him?
