The theme of this episode is communication (or lack of). All three couples are having difficulty in this department and I don't see how it could get much better. While religion is still a roadblock for two couples, they still are not having deeper conversations. Brennan continues to be Brennan and while we don't agree with how Emily's friends handled it, we do feel awful that this is who she was matched with. We're looking forward to the rest of the season and where we could go from here!

We also saw the wedding of Becca and Brennan and while we had to lightly roast Brennan for his lack of hair cut, we still think they're adorable and will work well with each other. We were surprised to see an expansion of what Michael went through on his wedding day and it was nice to see how gracious he was to his should-have-been bride. Next up: Cameron and Clare!

The conversation between Kody, Meri and Robyn was so insulting! Not only the suggestion that Meri move into Kody and Robyn's loft among all their crap but also Kody's really cool new ring and total disregard for Meri. 

We also get to see a small bit of Janelle and Kody's first date after their big fight. Leon and I disagree about if Janelle should have even entertained the date but in the end, Janelle got the answers she needed.

While Kody says he isn't going to get angry anymore, he is just as delusional and refuses to take any real action towards improving. We can't wait to see Janelle move on and be happy!

Kody continues to spiral during the holidays and has learned nothing during his divorce/separation process. Playing favorites with his wives has gotten him to where he is now and playing favorites with his kids will only take him further in the wrong direction. In true holiday spirit, Kody and Robyn take more traditions away from Meri and somehow lessens her role even more in the family. Janelle and Christine are adjusting and living their best lives as well as they can during their first holiday season without the big family.

After seeing how quickly the argument between Janelle and Kody degenerated I can see why that would be the final straw for her. She is completely right. Kody is manipulative and while he is quick to call her a liar, we all really know who the liar is. While it is difficult to see what these women have to go through, we are so excited to see them get their happiness back.

Nicole and Chris still have no plans for where they are going to live after decision day, but they dressed up like dinosaurs. So they have that going for them. Shaq and Kirsten are stagnant. I think they're both over it and counting down these last 7 days. Airris rejoined the retreat and Jasmine seemed really happy. I just wish they could work!

A very odd mix of subjects this week for the Brown family! We start off following Meri's journey to complete a colonoscopy screening and end with a party for the coworkers of Kody and the wives. This was a quieter episode but there were still a few gems!

One of the best episodes every season! Couples retreat! This year had a lot less drama but it was light and fun (which was needed). Airris and Jasmine finally seem to be making some sort of progress but we can't read it too well. Chris and Nicole are still going strong but Ellie was surprised to see a bit of herself in Chris this week. We think we have confirmation of Kirsten and Shaq being intimate one time (and one time only) while new problems arise. Clint and Gina slept in the same bed.

Even this early on, Kody has no intention of reconnecting or repairing his relationship with Christine. Hmmm... an 11 day trip to San Diego vs 2 nights in Vegas. Not quite the same.

Many of the issues from the past several weeks are still alive and well this episode. While Chris and Nicole are doing well overall, some small bumps are preventing them from thriving even more. Airris and Jasmine continue to talk about deeper conversations when in reality their issue is based on attraction (for Airris at least). Clint and Gina are BFFs and get some sweet movie recommendations. Kirsten and Shaq are struggling with unspoken expectations and outside pressures. We also get more expert time in one episode than we have seen in the entire season - which is very needed and so appreciated.

Intimacy week solidifies where the couples are currently at and where they will continue to be at on decision day.  Gina and Clint are done done. Not trying at all is worse then just ending it. Airris and Jasmine continue to be in the same place but for some reason Jasmine has to be the one to keep trying. Chris and Nicole are going strong and are ready to say yes on decision day. Kirsten does her best phone voice this episode and stays confusing Shaq and all of us at home.

It's so interesting to be able to see episodes like this and compare them to the most recent season. As much as these people have individually changed, the roots of the issues in the family have remained unchanged.

The couples continue to be stagnant this week as we cling on to any fun/hope for these couples. Just when we get serious progress for Kirsten and Shaq, we are right on to the next issue that will hold them back. Airris and Jasmine are still not on the same page but there is progress from Airris. The real question is, is this genuine? Is this to grow their intimacy? Regardless, we can't blame Jasmine for not wanting to immediately open back up. Chris and Nicole continue to talk about deep issues, open up a bit more about their childhood and we finally get to see them have some fun together. Clint and Gina are going to Clint and Gina. We are all just gals living in Gina's salon with her and Clint is still talking about himself because that's all he can really do at this point.

Everyone was adorable and we loved seeing the proud grandmothers with all the kiddos. But, would it be a Sister Wives episode without Kody doing something completely unnecessary? Watching him take half of his mothers food was even worse than we remember.
