The Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation (ACFN) just launched three large solar farms in Vulcan, Monarch and Coaldale in southern Alberta. The ACFN has a 50% ownership stake with Concord Green Energy in these solar projects which total 68-megawatts, making it one of the largest First Nation ownership stakes in a renewable energy project in Canada. The solar projects will produce enough energy to power 10,000 homes.
