One of the most prolific and respected voices in games collecting and preservation, John Hancock is recognized the world over as a foremost expert in the field. John's willingness and generosity to share his knowledge and stories with the gaming community--whether through his popular YouTube channel, numerous convention appearances, this very interview with your friendly neighborhood Dogcast (just to name a few)--has garnered him a reputation that truly is "Immortal".
Since embarking on his collecting journey, John has currently amassed an incredible 31 complete game sets--incuding a complete Sega Genesis game collection which was on display at Portland Retro Gaming Expo. Speaking of, John also happens to be one of the founders of PRGE, along with being a chief contributor to the Cowlitz Gamers for Kids--a convention focused on raising money for the ARC of Cowlitz county, WA to assist invdividuals with special needs. If that's not enough for you--the man also knows his beer and football.
So we were thrilled to sit down with John and discuss everything from the item that began his game collection, to future plans of games preservation, to the Philadelphia Eagles. And much, much more.
