In the Jewish culture of Jesus’ day, there was a connection between sin and sickness. They saw it as basically the same thing. But throughout his ministry, Jesus delineates between the two. In today’s bible study on Matthew 9, we’ll talk about when sickness and sin are related, and when they are not. In this chapter, we learn that Jesus is concerned not just with healing sickness but ultimately, healing sin. And he makes one of his most radical claims yet - that he has the authority to forgive sins.
