In this episode Miranda speaks with Steve Campbell of Landfall Press in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has been working at the iconic press for thirty-one years as the director, marketer, and collaborative printer and he still speaks about printmaking with a romance as if they were on their first date. Campbell has printed with Judy Chicago, Christo, Jim Dine, Claes Oldenburg, and Kara Walker, to name a few, and he says he’ll still get lost in the magic of admiring a print in the moments after it has been separated from the stone. We talk about how he came to Landfall over three decades ago, the meditative aspects of lithography, and what is on the horizon for Landfall as they look towards their 50th anniversary in 2020.
