On Today’s Show:

Now that we’re on the other side of 250, we bring you back to our usual format. Actually, before I go on I should say that I’m so thankful for every one of you who tuned in to our live brew day last week and I was overwhelmed by the positive feedback! A ton of you also asked if we’d do more live brew days so I managed to twist Todd’s arm into supporting that idea. Stay tuned for more details!
Todd and James joined me this week to take on 4 great questions. First, we have a listener who is going to mimic the set up we all use (1 immersion chiller in the wort and one in an ice-bath of it’s own) but he wants to know if he should also put his boil kettle in an ice-bath.
Then, our next question was from a listener who was gifted a mash & boil electric all-in-one and he wants to know if he should or shouldn’t sparge. Spoiler: we all sparge even on all-in-one brew days but we go over why you *should* and what you can do if you’d prefer to NOT sparge.
After that, we take a question from a listener who needs help harvesting yeast from his fermenter. What all needs to be saved and what is just trub?
Then we wrap up the episode with a question about upping the ABV of a beer AFTER its’ primary fermentation is complete. Can this be done and how can it be done, if possible?

We want to hear from you!

If you have a question that you’d like us to discuss on a future episode, please click on the “Submit a Question” link at the top of our website or you can now call in your questions via our questions hotline @ 325-305-6107 and leave your message after the beep. This is a friendly reminder that, if we choose your question for a future episode, we give you a $25 gift card to that episode’s sponsor!

cheers,

joshua
