After first resisting her role in a storied Italian luxury family brand, Miuccia Prada spent the '90s transforming the company into a major fashion house. She accomplished that metamorphosis by infusing her designs with her own interests and internal contradictions, challenging traditional ideas of beauty and luxury. By embracing her own identity as a modern woman, Prada brought the world into her designs-–and captured imaginations around the globe.
