A look at sales numbers, what can be expected trying to sell your first game, and ideas for improving your odds.
This is a bit of a case study showing the difficulties of selling a small indie game. I explore creating a small side project to gain experience launching a game and face the harsh reality of how difficult it is to market and sell a game. I cover the numbers of sales, what was effective at generating sales, and what seemed like it should have had an impact but didn't. I also discuss things that I could have done better. This may have some depressing numbers, but hopefully, a dose of reality will help devs better prepare for what may happen after launch.
