We see the headlines almost daily about eSports, especially as all major sports leagues had delayed starts in July and August 2020, with teams only playing partial seasons. Advertisers can easily understand eSports sponsorships because they mimic sports sponsorships. But there are more monetization opportunities outside of eSports for video game developers.
This session will discuss why eSports advertising is popular with the press and with advertisers. We will discuss the key elements advertisers look for in investing their media dollars overall, in eSports and in other video game advertising opportunities. Concepts that may be new but important to game developers are 3rd party impression and audience verification, viewability an,d brand lift measurement.
At the end of this session, the audience should have a better understanding of the important issues advertisers think about when investing their media dollars and how that will affect game developers monetization methods moving forward.
