140: Brutal Reality of Rural Wireless

This week, we had our largest group (Bill, Steve, Stephanie, Tom, David, Marc, Andreea, Rob, and Leonard) jump on the siloverse to talk about how rural connectivity has largely been all talk and little to speak about. With new spectrum and new options for connecting things out in the rural areas and the agricultural plains of the US and other regions, the economics don't seem to work out. The biggest issue - backhaul. Do we need to connect to the cloud or will edge computing provide new options for bringing connected intelligence to the remote and rural.
