Anthony Wilkes is the CEO of PlayScore; the makers of PlayScore 2 and the Optical Music Recognition library ReadScoreLib that 3rd party developers can license from PlayScore. This app lets you snap a photo of sheet music and convert it to a digital file you can work with in apps like Dorico or use within PlayScore 2 to use as a practice tool to learn a piece of music.
In this interview we dive into how he got into music and technology, the app’s origins, how the app is used today, what is next for PlayScore, and some of the more interesting uses of that library being licensed to 3rd parties.
