Ancient Vines

12 Nov 2020: Just how important is vine age in Burgundy? Producers like to wax lyrical about their Vieilles Vignes and the received wisdom is that old vines make for more concentrated wines. We will test thus out with 6 beautiful Burgundies all made from vines planted before the Second World War, so at least 89 years old.

2. 2015 Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot, Les Vergers Clos Saint-Marc Chassagne-Montrachet, Premier Cru
3. 2005 Domaine Bruno Clair, La Dominode Savigny-lès-Beaune, Premier Cru
4. 2010 Domaine Bruno Clavelier, Vosne-Romanée La Combe Brûlée, Vieilles Vignes, Cote de Nuits
5. 2010 Alain Hudelot-Noëllat, Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots, Premier Cru
6. 2009 Domaine de la Vougeraie Charmes-Chambertin, Grand Cru, Les Mazoyères, Cote de Nuits
