A stray arrow? A poison-tipped stray arrow? You know, to maybe kill Griffith? This week we unpack the assassination attempt on our fearless leader, who, let's be honest — is quickly becoming an annoying thorn in everyone's side. But after the slowest fall into shallow water anyone has ever done, we'll talk about Batman Guts and his sneaky mission that goes terribly awry.

The "will they, won't they?" tension between Guts and Griffith continues to mount as the Band of the Hawk faces growing conflict within the kingdom. Griffith has been attracting the wrong kind of attention and evil plans are starting to crystalize. Stray poison arrows and all that.

This week it's all eyes on Griffith as our favorite silver-haired boy is getting promotions left and right. With an even larger target painted on his back, we're starting to understand the nefarious plans of some of the nobles, all while the interpersonal relationships among the members of the Band of the Hawk become increasingly complex.

Before embarking on Berserk, Jeff was told this anime was going to take him places that perhaps he did not want to go. But by his account, it's been pretty smooth sailing so far. This week, we'll unpack the blossoming character dynamics as Guts, Griffith, and Bakalar's favorite, Corkus, all start to make their opinions known, gay water fights and all.

The Berserk Gaiden begins! Welcome back to JeffJeff's Bizarre Adventure. The gang is diving right into the deep end by embarking on the 1997 anime. In this episode we're introduced to Guts and his big-ass sword. Why is he able to wield such a big sword? What's that about? And who's this Griffith guy? And why's his hair so nice? The gang is very close to discovering the true identity of Kira, but not before we've had a visit from everyone's favorite renegade Polaroid, Yoshihiro. His arrow is up to no good, and is about to give Kira a new ability. How come he gets three Stand abilities? Déjà vu. Well, we've done it. We've reached an episode of JoJo's that is so wildly confusing and bewildering, a team of forensic podcast detectives needed to be called in. Thankfully it contains the single greatest scene in the anime's history. But then, we're treated to the thrilling conclusion of the July 15th 4-parter in chilling fashion, as Kira's true evil goes on full display. We're back from a small break and recapping the first 2 episodes of a 4 part arc. It's safe to say the group is divided on these opening two episodes, but at least these are both logically air-tight narratives that we're dealing with here. The town's secret killer is finally revealed to be Kira, who's basically the Patrick Bateman of Morioh. Let's see just how hard it is to steal a sandwich in these two phenomenal episodes. So I guess Rohan is like, in this show now? He and Koichi spend an entire episode hanging out with a ghost in an alleyway that doesn't exist on the map of Morioh.
