The Problem With Near Death Experiences Becoming A Religion

Podcast guest 496 is Dr. Robert Christophor Coppes author of the books NDEs and World Religions, in which he compared NDEs with 5 major religions, and Messages from the light which focusses on how much we are interconnected and the consequences of the connection. During the near-death experience podcast we will be discussing those books as well as his upcoming book Impressions of NDEs.  Robert Christophor Coppes holds a PhD in economics and worked for many years at the University of Groningen and in the banking industry. He was in a commercial position with a French bank and later in a supervisory role at the Dutch Central Bank (equivalent of the Federal Reserve). He has recently retired to write and lecture.  His conviction that Near-Death Experiences are true spiritual experiences dates back to 1979 when he read Raymond Moody’s Life after Life. In 2006, he wrote a book, which was published only in the Netherlands, in which he compared the essences of NDEs with those of five world religions. This book was translated in English and published in the US in 2013. However, his first book in the US, Messages from The Light, was published in 2011. It was also translated in Dutch and German. His upcoming book is based on quotes from more than 100 NDErs. The message he derived from all these quotes is that we are all ONE and that LOVE binds us.
