Overcoming Family Separation Lead Her to Start a Nationwide Program to Help Teens Overcome Adverse Childhood Experiences

47 min • 1 juni 2021

When she was in high school, Samantha Wetje's family seemed perfect from the outside. Their family was a pillar to the community. But what they didn't know was that her dad's mental health struggles and addition issues had lead to her family being torn apart. While Samantha was devestated at the time, she didn't have the words to really understand what she was going through.

Years later, Samantha realized that she was not the only teen to have experienced an Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE). She now has founded a nationwide program dedicated to helping kids understand what ACEs are and how they can overcome them.
