Ep 77 - Photography Educator Bagshaw on Teaching Photography

85 min • 17 januari 2023

Sean Bagshaw is a landscape/travel photographer and photo educator based in Ashland, Oregon where he lives with his wife and two sons.

Sean started his photography business in 2004. Before that, he was a middle school science teacher. Always a traveler, adventurer and experience junkie (thanks to his mom and dad for raising him in the hills of Southern Oregon).

Sean began taking photos in college because he wanted to record and share his explorations. Now he goes on adventures with the main purpose of taking photos. When not creating, Sean enjoys teaching and sharing.

His dream has always been to be able to combine photography with teaching. In addition to selling fine art prints and licensing his images, he teaches image developing, leads workshops and gives presentations whenever possible.

Sean has found he’s able to reach the most people through his video tutorials and YouTube videos.

Sean is also a member of the photography team Photo Cascadia and working with Tony Kuyper.  These talented folks are his travel companions, business partners, close friends and constant inspiration.

We discuss his transition from full time teacher to full time photographer and educator, how he structured his business for success and where his favourite locations are along with a lot more.

I hope you enjoy the show!
