When Lara Adekoya started baking during lockdown last year, she had no idea she would quickly become the cookie queen of Los Angeles. The 28-year-old baker is the founder of Fleurs et Sel, a baked goods company that releases locally in small batches, and sells out in under five minutes. After being laid off from her job as a top salesperson at Nordstrom, Lara began baking cookies and delivering them to her friends and clients around town. What was initially a fun way to spread love during tough times quickly drew lines of fans to her at-home bakery. The demand for Fleur et Sels has catapulted her to culinary success - she’s hosted pop ups at The Palisades Village and The Grove, which the legendary Mindy Weiss (who happens to be one of her old clients!) helped produce and promote, provides cookies for Netflix sets, was just featured on Good Morning America, and is only just beginning. In this episode, Lara gives us the key takeaways from her entrepreneurial journey, from maintaining relationships to customer service lessons, and how she turned her passion into a thriving business.
