Solar Returns

In this episode, we demystify the astrological concept of Solar Returns. Discover how this personalized chart, cast for the exact moment the Sun returns to its position at your birth, can offer valuable insights into the year ahead. We delve into the debate of using birth location versus current location for casting the chart, sharing our experiences and preferences. Get ready to learn how to harness the power of Solar Returns to gain a deeper understanding of your personal growth and potential challenges in the coming year.
Try this experiment:
1. Cast your own Solar Return for the current year you are in (example: if your birthday is in November, cast your SR using the 2023 chart). Use your place of birth.
2. Cast the same chart again, but using the location you were on your birthday.
3. Compare the two charts. Using basic interpretation skills, which chart resonates more with the experience you've had so far since your last birthday?
You can repeat this process for any previous year, too. You may also do this for the charts of family and friends. Keep notes of your findings in a notebook (digital or old-school paper). This will help you to formulate your own sense of what works for you in practice.

The Transiting Nodes in Aries and Libra

The transiting nodes enter the polarity of Aries and Libra on July 18, 2023. They will be there until January 11, 2025. The north node moves into Aries, and the south node moves into Libra.

They discuss the importance of letting the heart lead the way during this time, and how it can be a time to prepare for the Saturn Return that follows. Progressed Lunar Return Facts:
- Occurs when the Progressed Moon comes to a conjunction with the Natal Moon.
- Happens for everyone at about ages 27.5, 54, and 81.
- This is different from Progressed New Moon, which is when the Progressed Sun and Progressed Moon are conjunct.
- Occurs a couple years before the first Saturn return, and 4-ish years before the second Saturn return.
- The orb is about 6 degrees (and 6 months) either side of the exact conjunction of Progressed Moon and Natal Moon, for a total of 1 year of influence.

The Transiting Nodes in Taurus and Scorpio

The Transiting Nodes Facts:
- On December 22, 2021, the North Node entered Taurus, and the South Node entered Scorpio.
- The nodes are always moving retrograde through the wheel of the zodiac.
- The Nodes spend about 1.5 years in each polarity (opposite pair of signs).
- They were in Gemini/Sagittarius from June 4, 2020 until December 22, 2021.
- The next shift will be into Aries/Libra on July 12, 2023.
- The last time the North Nodes was in Taurus and the South Node in Scorpio was April 2003 - December 2004.
- The nodes are on a roughly 18-year cycle of returning to the same positions, and at the halfway mark (9 years) they flip-flop from north to south in the respective signs.

Pluto Return Facts
- The U.S. is in the middle of an approximately 3.5 year period of its Pluto Return.
- The Pluto Return is defined as when Pluto returns to the position it was at the “birth”.
- We are using the 7/4/1776 date and the Sibly Chart to define that return
- Pluto takes approximately 248 years to go around the Sun
- The Pluto Return lasts a little over three years (depending upon the orb you use)
- Exact dates are almost meaningless in such a lengthy transit. They simply mark the peaks in an ongoing wave of energy.
Here are the dates that it has been in range using a 2.5 degree orb:
-in range during month of April 2020 where it stations Rx at 24 deg. 59 min
-In range 1/27/21 - 8/8/21
-In range 12/2/21 - 3/27/23 (all of 2022)
-In range 6/7/23 - 1/23/24
-In range 8/28/24 - 11/23/24
