Apache Batik provides a vector and rastor cavas. Which I utilize din the past to build a precision gps/gis application for a mapping company in the early 2000’s.

The company I worked for as a 1099 contractor told me to remove function of directional rotation of the map based on direction of travel. I was, as far as I know, the first person to implement this in a GPS solution.

there is a permission issue newer versions of vimcat when used in the msys bash shell for windows. This issue can be resolved by commenting out the “mkdir -m 700 /tmp” linue of the script. msys does not support the -m flag.
