Carolyn Rose Gimian is the Executive Director of the Chogyam Trungpa Institute, and was a close student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche's who later served as editor of many of his classic books including Shambhala: Sacred Path Of The Warrior and Smile At Fear. Carolyn, her husband James (Jim) Gimian and Samuel Bercholz (founder, Shambhala Publications) were some of the earliest members of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche's sangha, nearly involved with nearly every facet of his life for the entirety of his 17 years he remained alive in America. Carolyn, Jim and Samuel remain surrendered devotees of Trungpa Rinpoche to this day, and are generous, living testaments to the wisdom contained in his teachings. Collectively, they share countless humorous and heartwarming stories of what it was like being on the front lines of Tibetan Buddhism arriving in America, watching the emergence of Pema Chodrön (and the surprisingly hilarious car she drove in her first year as a nun), what it was like spending long periods of time with Trungpa Rinpoche's deceased body for 6 weeks after he passed, and how smoke can turn into a rainbow. Also, Carolyn shares exciting news about the highly anticipated Chogyam Trungpa Digital Library.
