Welcome to episode 8 of the Lovecars on the Grid Podcast, where our presenters, Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman, bring us a roundup of motorsport events!

This week, we have the new Formula 1 car launches for the 2023 season, plus more controversy from the FIA as always, plus NASCAR and more!

We kick off as always with Formula 1, as we see a common theme across all the new team liveries. Teams have been releasing a lot more black cars to reduce weight from paint even further, so that they can add parts elsewhere on the car. Which is your favourite new livery?

The new cars will be out on track in Bahrain for testing this week. With 6 new driver pairings, who will be fastest?

The latest embarrassment from the FIA is a new rule that has been introduced, forbidding drivers to express their political beliefs on the track or the stadium without prior written permission from the FIA. This includes Lewis Hamilton's rainbow helmet!

Who else stayed up until 1:30AM for NASCAR and the Daytona 500? With over half the race with no incidents, the second half resulted in a number of spectacular crashes! We came to the final lap following yet another accident. Ricky Stenhouse took the win in his Chevrolet, following by Joe Logano for Ford and Christopher Bell in 3rd place in his Toyota.

The single seater, Formula Four UAE had their finale at Yas Marina. As did the Formula Regional Middle East. These drivers will be the future drivers in Formula 1!

Next week, we have Formula 1 testing in Bahrain, Formula E heads to Cape Town in South Africa and the World Superbike Championship kicks off at Phillip Island in Australia. NASCAR is back in Fontana, California.
