Lovecars On the Grid. Global Motorsport Podcast
Welcome to episode 43 of the Lovecars On The Grid podcast. Our hosts Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman bring us another motorsport roundup!
This week, we had Formula 1 in Mexico, drama in NASCAR, and we had Tiff's birthday! Kicking off as normal with Formula 1, where most of the drama took place off the track! We had the result of the overspend from last season with Red Bull, who overspent by £1.86 million. The team have been fined $7 million and 10% penalty on their aero production research. Team principal, Christian Horner denies any wrong doing, and puts it down to poor accounting and nominal tax fees. Was this enough punishment for Red Bull? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
Lewis Hamilton made the headlines as well, after he was booed in Mexico for beating Sergio Perez. Fernando Alonso also said that Hamilton only had to beat his team mate to win the Championship, whereas Max Verstappen had to beat the entire field to win his Championship.
Max Verstappen secured his 14th win for the year in Mexico, taking the record for the most wins and most points in a season.
The Porsche Carrera Cup was in Asia, with 6 race cars written off as a result of a driver rejoining the track too early.
Did we have the best overtake in NASCAR? At Martinsville? Ross Chastain performed an epic wall riding manoeuvre to overtake on the final lap and secure him a space in the title race! We will crown the NASCAR champion next weekend!
We also have the Moto GP in Valencia next week too, where we will crown a champion there too!
