Just as the appetite for another proxy war in Ukraine fades in the eyes of the average American, a new geopolitical distraction pops up on the other side of the world that the American public is supposed to care deeply about and that is the potential for a war between China and Taiwan. Is this a media-fueled distraction designed to whipsaw our attention from one manufactured war to another, or is there a real danger that China may look to absorb Taiwan into its empire and force the United States to make moves accordingly?
