You’ve been waiting all summer for it, and now the time has come! That’s right, on this behemoth of an episode we’re giving you guys a full rundown of this year’s Anime Expo - an over four hour-long podcast to discuss over four days of events and activities!
Joining me to go over all this goodness is VLordGTZ, co-host of Manga Mavericks @ Movies and editorial writer for All-Comic and Toonami Faithful, and the Shonen Sunday guru himself, Sakaki, webmaster of the Weekly Shonen Sunday talkback blog and twitter. At least, you’ll get to hear Sakaki about half an hour in - there was, unfortunately, a mishap where his audio wasn’t recording for the first hour of our conversation, so we had to trim down some of our earlier discussion points. If he hadn’t lost that first hour, you guys would be listening to a five hour-long podcast instead of a four hour-long one! But don’t you fret - you guys will start hearing Sakaki once we get to the really exciting stuff, from the Dr. Stone premiere onwards!
Yes indeed, we cover the gamut of AX premieres and panels in this podcast, from the historic Japanese-language premiere of Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution to Ouran High School Host Club author Bisco Hatori’s first North American con appearance! Plus, we also give you the lowdown on the lines, the food, the convention center, the dealer’s hall and Artist Alley - almost everything and anything there is to know about what our Anime Expo 2019 experience was like! It was a lot of chaos, but did we have fun overall, and would we recommend you attending next year’s show? Listen and learn, as we explore the AX experience!
