Use the emotions of “drain” as ignitors for a replacement, productive emotion. The emotions of drain can come through as sadness and hopelessness. Talk with the emotion…ask the sadness, what are the alternatives? What will likely happen is that sadness catalyzes frustration and shifts into anger. Anger is dynamic as opposed to the passivity of sadness. And this dynamic force from anger will move you into internal action. With this comes determination - deter the mind - from the direction it was going in sadness. This wise use of anger gives you a new direction, a quest to live.
