In today's episode in honour of mothers day our host Mon speaks with her beautiful Mum Sherrell, most commonly known as Shez.
Shez is a mother of 5 pretty amazing kids. 4 living (Bec, Emma, Daniel & Mon) and one angel (Lachlan). She takes us through her motherhood journey of love, loss, grief & resilience. With three previous text book pregnancies and births Sherrell would have never imagined herself losing her fourth child Lachlan during childbirth. After suffering a placental abruption in labour, Lachlan was deprived of the oxygen he required to survive. Although resuscitated, Lachlan wasn't able to stay alive without mechanical ventilation and at only 24 hours old Sherrell had to come to the heart breaking decision to stop life support. Shez talks us though this moment and the impact it had on her, her family & community. She then explains how she found the strength again to try for another baby and the anxiety she had surrounding this pregnancy.
With many highs and lows throughout her life Shez shares her secrets to time management, resilience and how she best manages the never ending mother's mental load.
