In today's episode our host Mon talks to new Mumma Lani about her journey into parenthood and facing the unexpected possibility of having a baby with a disability.
Her beautiful baby girl Eden was born into this world without any hearing and since then has had to overcome many challenges such as multiple specialist appointments & testing, hearing aids from 8 week old and most recently having undergone surgery to have cochlear implants.
Lani shares with us her birth story and the challenges that come with a posterior labour and birth. As well as discussing her experience and recovery with a grade 3A tear.
Lani and her husband Liam are incredible parents who in a time where many people would have fallen apart have continued to show their strength, resilience and love for their daughter Eden by raising awareness for infant hearing loss.
Lani and Liam have shared some useful support groups and resources for anyone who may be going through a similar situation.
