55 min • 29 juli 2021
On today's Episode Mon chats with first time parents Nicola and Connor about their frightening experience of bringing baby Scarlet into the world. After noticing that Scarlet's movement patterns had decreased, Nicola followed her maternal instinct and went straight to the hospital to be monitored, ultimately saving her and her baby's life. Soon after she found herself in an operating theatre delivering her premature baby who would then be transferred out to a tertiary hospital. With a debilitating post op complication Nicola wasn't able to see her baby and instead Connor had no choice but to take on the heavy load of caring for both his wife and his newborn daughter. In an episode of raw emotion, Nicola & Connor open up on some of struggles they faced when processing what had happened as well as adapting to having a baby in the NICU. They discuss the difficulty of leaving the hospital whilst your baby is still in NICU as well as the mentality they adapted to get through what they described as the best and worst week of their lives.
