In todays episode our host Mon speaks with Melbourne based Mumma Shernie Jewell on her unique motherhood experience. After a straight forward pregnancy and birth Shernie expected her postpartum journey to be the same. But when her little girl Millie didn't attach to the breast from birth her breastfeeding journey was far from what she had always envisioned. Nearly 8 months postpartum & Millie still hasn't attached to the breast which led Shernie on her exclusive expressing journey.
Shernie talks us though some of the challenges she faced during this time and the mindset she had to adapt to overcome some of the negative emotions she had towards her self as well as shares some useful tips to navigate this period.
Sharnie and Mon hope that this episode highlights some of the real challenges that many women face postpartum and that if you are someone or know someone who may be going though a similar experience this episode may help you feel not as alone.
Like always Mon's aim in this episode is to educate you about this topic but also always encourages you to seek your own medical advice from your healthcare provider.
