Gary Renard and Cindy Lora-Renard talk with Bruce Rawles about ACIM's metaphysics of pure non-duality and how trust in the Holy Spirit (our Inner Kindness Teacher) is the foundation for (Quantum) True Forgiveness and sustainable peace of mind.

Our shared interest in learning and applying the ideas in A Course in Miracles gives us the context to see current events as a classroom custom-tailored to each person's forgiveness lessons and helps us seek and find the perspective that restores our sanity... the practice of seeing all-inclusive, eternal innocence in everyone (and removing the blocks in our mind that seem to interfere with that vision) is the only plan for salvation that will ultimately work.

"Let us be glad that we can walk the world, and find so many chances to perceive another situation where God’s gift can once again be recognized as ours! ²And thus will all the vestiges of hell, the secret sins and hidden hates be gone. ³And all the loveliness which they concealed appear like lawns of Heaven to our sight, to lift us high above the thorny roads we travelled on before the Christ appeared." (ACIM, T-31.VIII.9:1-3)

We just need to look at our thoughts without condemnation and forgive ourselves for our projections onto this surreal world and everyone in it ... including ourselves. Eventually, we integrate the principle of pure non-duality (the only sustainable foundation for lasting joy) by accepting the Atonement: recognizing that nothing in the ego's propaganda for its belief in separation happened. ACIM doesn't suggest that we deny our physical experience:

"The body is merely part of your experience in the physical world. ⁹Its abilities can be and frequently are overevaluated. ¹⁰However, it is almost impossible to deny its existence in this world. ¹¹Those who do so are engaging in a particularly unworthy form of denial. ¹²The term “unworthy” here implies only that it is not necessary to protect the mind by denying the unmindful. ¹³If one denies this unfortunate aspect of the mind’s power, one is also denying the power itself." (ACIM, T-2.IV.3:8-13)

It’s only the ego’s (mis)interpretation consisting of condemning (separating) judgments about everyone and everything (including ourselves) that DID NOT happen. That's the heart of the Course's denial of the denial of Truth; the real salvation we're all destined to uncover within our own minds.

When we deny our experience in our projected world, we're denying Holy Spirit access to that neutral data which is essential for true forgiveness. As Gary reminded us, we can give our experiences to Holy Spirit, trust its feedback that nothing ego told us – a seemingly endless variety of misinterpretations, all involving the unchallenged acceptance of the thought system of sin, guilt, and fear – happened, and after a while this becomes more and more automatic.

We unmask our made-up personas and roles on the stage of this dreamy life, or as Cindy shared, we're all delivering Oscar-winning performances 24/7!

"The importance of this idea lies in the fact that it contains a correction for a major perceptual distortion. ²You think that what upsets you is a frightening world, or a sad world, or a violent world, or an insane world. ³All these attributes are given it by you. ⁴The world is meaningless in itself." (ACIM, W-12.1:1-4) ...

"What is meaningless is neither good nor bad. ²Why, then, should a meaningless world upset you? ³If you could accept the world as meaningless and let the truth be written upon it for you, it would make you indescribably happy." (ACIM, W-12.5:1-3)

Dear Course Community,

Yesterday, at 3:00 pm on the spring solstice, many of us gathered worldwide at the Second Global Meeting of ACIM. We joined in a prayer that included:

“In our deepening and widening circle, I ask that we bring to heart and mind, my lifelong friend and former co-president, “Dr. Bob,” who has devoted over 40 years of service to A Course in Miracles and the Foundation for Inner Peace. Dr. Bob wanted to physically be present but has been dealing with health issues that are bringing him into his own deepening journey of forgiveness and awakening. In this, I especially ask that we all send him gratitude for the magnificent job he has done. May we send him prayers of love so strongly that his heart will soar and join with us all in Spirit, with the Holy Spirit, in this group-shared Holy Instant. Let us take a moment now of silence together, as one, in LOVE.”

Robert’s wife, Emmanuelle, and I thank you profusely for the abundant love embedded in that powerful communal prayer. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Bob released his body and moved into the realm of Spirit. He is now the essence of the Foundation for Inner Peace that he worked so hard to serve. May he rest in this peace along with those who served before him: my recently departed mother, Judith Skutch Whitson, her beloved Course and life partner Colonel William Whitson, Drs. Helen Schucman, William Thetford, Kenneth Wapnick, Gerald Jampolsky and all the Course teachers and students who devoted their lives to the practice-until-perfection of A Course in Miracles.

Thank you all for your love in our joined journey on this path. Our beloved Dr. Bob went out on the wings of our prayers and the waves of our love. Amen.

A Quote from ACIM on Death

"Yet there is a kind of seeming death that has a different source. ⁹It does not come because of hurtful thoughts and raging anger at the universe. ¹⁰It merely signifies the end has come for usefulness of body functioning. ¹¹And so it is discarded as a choice, as one lays by a garment now outworn.

2. This is what death should be; a quiet choice, made joyfully and with a sense of peace, because the body has been kindly used to help the Son of God along the way he goes to God. ²We thank the body, then, for all the service it has given us. ³But we are thankful, too, the need is done to walk the world of limits, and to reach the Christ in hidden forms and clearly seen at most in lovely flashes. ⁴Now we can behold Him without blinders, in the light that we have learned to look upon again.

3. We call it death, but it is liberty. ²It does not come in forms that seem to be thrust down in pain upon unwilling flesh, but as a gentle welcome to release. ³If there has been true healing, this can be the form in which death comes when it is time to rest a while from labor gladly done and gladly ended. ⁴Now we go in peace to freer air and gentler climate, where it is not hard to see the gifts we gave were saved for us. ⁵For Christ is clearer now; His vision more sustained in us; His Voice, the Word of God, more certainly our own."

ACIM: Gentleness

“Harm is impossible for God’s teachers. They can neither harm nor be harmed. Harm is the outcome of judgment. It is the dishonest act that follows a dishonest thought. It is a verdict of guilt upon a brother, and therefore on oneself. It is the end of peace and the denial of learning. It demonstrates the absence of God’s curriculum, and its replacement by insanity. No teacher of God but must learn, - and fairly early in his training, - that harmfulness completely obliterates his function from his awareness. It will make him confused, fearful, angry and suspicious. It will make the Holy Spirit’s lessons impossible to learn. Nor can God’s Teacher be heard at all, except by those who realize that harm can actually achieve nothing. No gain can come of it.

Therefore, God’s teachers are wholly gentle. They need the strength of gentleness, for it is in this that the function of salvation becomes easy. To those who would do harm, it is impossible. To those to whom harm has no meaning, it is merely natural. What choice but this has meaning to the sane? Who chooses hell when he perceives a way to Heaven? And who would choose the weakness that must come from harm in place of the unfailing, all-encompassing and limitless strength of gentleness? The might of God’s teachers lies in their gentleness, for they have understood their evil thoughts came neither from God’s Son nor his Creator. Thus did they join their thoughts with Him Who is their Source. And so their will, which always was His Own, is free to be itself.”
