Hello Friends! We're taking another trip back to Kinkdom today, with The Kinks’ last LP to be released in both mono and stereo, 1969's
Arthur (Or The Decline and Fall of The British Empire). A shockingly late period mono mix, this fantastic album explores a more matured, rock sound for the group, with plenty of British baroque elements mixed in, to give us a group of mixes that, while not as far apart as the UK and Australia, certainly have enough cultural differences to make them both worthwhile. But which of these two mixes is definitive, or is neither an all-out winner? If you're young (and if you're healthy) why not get on a boat and come to Australia, where we have all the answers!
Happy Listening,
Frederick
