The second episode, In Omnia Paratus, transports the listener back to 1932. Teenage shipping heiress Nancy Rose-Dowling follows her trombonist beau to an obscure country club in the middle of nowhere. What was it called... "Something" Manor...?

Pledge to support Mockery Manor: The Murder Mystery Game on Kickstarter!
Hello listeners! It's Laurence and Lindsay LongCat here to tell you about our how we're raising funds RIGHT NOW to make “Mockery Manor: the Murder Mystery Game!”
That's right, we're making a game for you to play at home, based in and around Mockery Manor theme park.
The game is set in 1989, two years after season 3. It's Halloween Spooky Nights, and a staff member has gone missing. It's up to YOU to find out what happened, and hunt down the culprit.
Mockery Manor: the Murder Mystery Game is for one to four players, and has the feel of an escape room – except it's not just one room covered in clues, it's the whole of Mockery Manor theme park! Delivered straight to your living room. (Or lounge for our US listeners)
You'll receive an A4 envelope with over 30 pieces of evidence. This includes ephemera from the park, such as a map, a Khyber Fastpass, postcards, a menu from the Unidentified Frying Objects diner, documents stolen from the office of personnel manager Davina Strangelove, a booklet entitled 'Bette Armstrong's Guide to Deduction', and more! There are puzzles aplenty, and clues that connect to one another to form a bigger picture.
And of course, there's an audio aspect! The envelope has a QR code that takes you a state-of-the-art 1998 website, where you can find recordings of staff members and guests. Figure out who sounds suspicious, what they might be hiding, and why.
The 'audio recordings' include a grand finale that you unlock with the correct solution.
A grand finale that's as thrilling as the climactic scenes of our three seasons.
We really want to make this game. And we can do it if we reach our Kickstarter goal by December the 12th. You can give as little as £1, or you can pledge £20 and receive the game as a reward.
It all depends on hitting our target - £2300 - by December 12th. So, if you'd like to find out more about the game, and pledge to help make this happen, visit our Kickstarter.

Long Cat Media presents a new Mockery Manor miniseries...
MOCKERY MINIS: TALES FROM THE MANOR
Mockery Minis is a series of narrated stories that delve into the history and wider lore of Mockery Manor - the theme park, the house, and the land.
The first episode, Misadventure at Mockery Lake, takes the listener back to the notorious UK heatwave of 1976. As with any summer season, the Lakehouse is packed with teenage horndogs, drinking, partying and getting in trouble. What happens when you want to get away from it all? How about a little midnight boating?

We're delighted to be bringing you one of our long-time favourite audio dramas - the wild and wonderful science-fantasy-western Midst.
But before that, we sat down with the show's three mysterious creators Xen, Sara and Matt, to have a good old chat about the making of both Midst and Mockery Manor! We've been fans of each others' shows from their very beginnings, and it was such a pleasure to finally meet them.
A little about Midst:
The small desert planet of Midst spins on the border between two halves of the cosmos: the dazzling Un and the mysterious Fold. Life is simple for most of the planet’s inhabitants… until an influential civilization known as the Trust takes an interest in Midst and sparks an unexpected chain of events, intertwining the lives of three complicated antiheroes. Also, unrelated to any of that, Midst’s moon is about to fall out of the sky and cause reality to eat itself alive, so that’s not great either. Unsolved murders, cult brainwashing, and supernatural darkness all combine to create a clusterfuck of cosmic proportions.
As always, you can find Midst wherever you get your podcasts.
New Episodes of Midst release every Wednesday on your favorite podcast streaming platform, the Critical Role YouTube Channel, and for subscribers on Midst.co

Season's greetings! And welcome to 'A Midwinter Night's Dream', a Mockery Christmas Special! This one-off drama occurs between seasons 2 and 3, in the winter of 1994.
We made A Midwinter Night's Dream back in 2022, and released it that Christmas for our Ko-Fi patrons, and as a one-off purchase for anyone else. This year we're excited to make it available for you all to enjoy for free.
We're following the same release format for the Christmas special we're making this year. The Matty Tapes will be out in the first week of December 2023, and like last year, our patrons will be able to access it for free, and for everyone else, we're asking for a donation of £3.99. Next year, we'll release The Matty Tapes for free, for everyone!
Why are we doing it this way? Well, in a nutshell, the proceeds from the sale of the Xmas Special helps us to keep making audio dramas! And we have a lot we want to do in 2024, including Magenta and Bernard's Paranormal Investigations and season four of Mockery Manor.
In the meantime, sit back with a mug of spiced wine, warm your nutmegs by the fire, and enjoy A Midwinter Night's Dream.

Previously on Mockery Manor: Bette sent each of the suspects a letter and brought them all to the parlour of the Four Spurs Saloon for a Poirot-style showdown. Sure enough, the currently-comatose Bobby is revealed as the man behind Clayton's many illegitimate kids. Twenty-some years ago, Bobby sold Clay's sperm without the country star's knowledge. What an asshole! One of those kids is revealed to be Clay's assistant, Anna Lou! Not only that, but Anna Lou's mother turns out to be Clay's stalker Abilene, the woman who invaded the VIP lounge on the night of the murder. That's right, folks, Abilene had bought some of Clay's purloined sperm to create her kids! Now, with those kids all grown up, Bette reveals that Abilene had recently been receiving love letters from someone purporting to be Clayton. Golly gosh! As for Jacob - formerly Harry - he claims to have come to the park with the sole purpose of getting his revenge on Bobby for running him out of town all those years ago... but Jacob done changed his mind and let bygones be bygones. And just as Bette was about to reveal who really poisoned Bobby, JJ burst through the doors and confessed!

Previously on Mockery Manor: Time is running out as the evidence against JJ mounts. JJ, Bette and Parker gather in the parlour at the Four Spurs Saloon to try and figure out whodunnit. JJ is alarmed to hear someone has been in her room and stolen the letter from Mrs Wainscoat that lured her to the mine train on the night of the murder. Parker tells them how Clay's stalker Abilene gained access to the VIP lounge because of a Mockery security pass. Bette reveals that Abilene's son Brian is the spitting image of a young Clay. Fenwick reveals that Bobby has collapsed, and Harry has been arrested for poisoning him! And that Harry's real name is Jacob, and he used to be a private investigator who was hired for a job ten years ago... that involved infiltrating Clay's inner circle. Hoo-boy, that's a whole heap of revelations! Finally, Bette tells the others to gather the suspects for a Poirot-style showdown.

Hey folks, Laurence here...
And today we are so excited to introduce OUR new show.
We have a new podcast that's just started, it's called MAGENTA PRESENTS.
It's a horror anthology series, in the tradition of classic anthology shows like Tales From The Crypt and Elvira, in which Madame Magenta is your horror hostess and guide to the unnatural and the bizarre.
And the first story in Magenta Presents is a five-episode miniseries called GHOSTED.
A full audio drama, written and directed by Lindsay, with music and sound design by me, and starring Beth Eyre and Lucy Roslyn in the main roles.
Perched on a rain-battered cliff edge is a former lighthouse; now a charming, boutique hotel. Owner and sole occupant Beth has spent months renovating, absorbing its essence into her bones, preparing for her first guest to arrive. But when they do, to Beth's horror, it is a figure from a past she has tried to forget. Keira. Face-to-face for the first time in years, the pair must reckon with old mistakes, old grievances. And something else, besides. Because the lighthouse has a past too.
We're going to play you the first episode now, and you can hear the next episode by subscribing to Magenta Presents wherever you get podcasts, you can also go to Long Cat Media .com, or you can tap the link in the show notes of this episode.
And now we really hope you enjoy GHOSTED, episode 1.

He tells them that the exits to Koschei the Deathless are all sealed, and his men have the ride surrounded. But Jenkins has a problem. Margot is here. Jenkins goes into the fray to retrieve Margot and escape before the final phase of his plan - explosives.
As he leaves the control room, Jenkins gives Parker a message to read on the tannoy if he does not return with Margot. It will help her escape, but it's something only she would understand.
Meanwhile - JJ, Bette, Gretchen, Thomaz and Davina are all still trapped in the building. Watching on the monitors, Parker is horrified to see the twins looking at one of Jenkins' bombs. Speaking into the tannoy, he cries out to them. But before he can be understood... ka-boom.

Previously: as the Committee arrives at Koschei the Deathless for Hilda's meeting, JJ and Bette sneak in via a side entrance to try and rescue Gretchen. They stumble into the ride, and find themselves in a creepy but familiar kitchen, occupied by an animatronic witch. To her horror, JJ realises that the witch is modelled on Dorothy - Margot's mother, and the twins' grandmother. JJ recalls the Dreamland dollhouse, shown to her by Dorothy moments before she was murdered by Matty. This kitchen is identical to that of the dollhouse. It's Mockery Manor. The twins hop on a passing Egg Buggy, and discover that each room is a distorted, nightmarish reflection of the rooms of Mockery Manor. As they near the grand ballroom, the twins hop out of the Buggy to stay unnoticed. They are shocked to see Margot and Davina among the Committee members. Why are they there? And who's looking after baby Freddie? Meanwhile, Hilda is losing communication with her security unit as they are each taken out by Jenkins' men. "We're under attack" she radios to the others. "Retreat to Koschei and seal it. No-one gets in, no-one gets out. And if you see anyone you don't recognise... execute on sight."
In this episode: Party time.

Meanwhile, Parker frantically searches the park for a phone, and runs into Jenkins and his silent muscle, "Max". It emerges that Jenkins has a crack team of trained operatives scattered throughout the park. As they approach Koschei the Deathless, Parker notices that the ride building is a replica of the Mockery Manor house. Jenkins reveals that he and Hilda were stationed at the Schloss during the war, and that the pair went on to design the theme park together. But Hilda has betrayed him. And not only that, Jenkins says... Hilda was responsible for the murder of Parker's father.
Armed with Eric's gun, Bette bursts into the Schloss' secret rooms to find JJ standing over Bohdanko's body. Together, they briefly consider fleeing, before finally resolving to go and rescue Gretchen. Over at Koschei, the Committee members are welcomed by Hilda. They will ride the "egg buggies" through the attraction and disembark at the Masquerade Ball for a buffet reception. But among the Committee members are two surprising guests - Margot and Davina.
In this episode: JJ and Bette take a ride on Koschei the Deathless...

Previously: Oh no! At the schloss, JJ, Bette, Gretchen and Parker are held at gunpoint by Bohdanko, the Russian gangster who has been chasing JJ across Europe in search of the stolen Vermeer. While Bohdanko demands that JJ take him to the painting, Gretchen tries to throw him off the scent. He is not so easily duped, and they are both taken hostage.
Bette and Parker are left tied up in JJ's room, but they are rescued by Dodgy Eric, who has been playing dead on the bed for some time. Parker runs off to call the police, while Bette takes Eric's gun and goes in search of JJ and Gretchen.
Meanwhile, JJ and Gretchen try and stall for time with an ever-more-dangerous Bohdanko. After several failed attempts to lose him, Bohdanko's phone rings. It becomes clear that he has double-crossed his boss, and is planning to steal the Vermeer for himself. In a desperate attempt to lose him, JJ and Gretchen lead Bohdanko to Wizzzard Entertainment's hidden rooms in the schloss. But when they get there, JJ realises they are not alone. She hides behind a sofa, and calls for Gretchen to do the same. Suddenly, Bohdanko is shot by an unknown someone...
In this episode: Parker learns some shocking truths, JJ and Bette face the music, and Hilda assembles the Committee...

Previously: Parker bumps into Bette at the entrance to Dunkelschloss. They hide from Hilda by running into The Little Mermaid's Underwater Cave System, which, they notice, has the exact same layout as Mockery Manor's Dreamland. Parker tells Bette his suspicions - that Jenkins might had his dad killed, and that he is running some sort of shady business with Hilda. Bette explains that she eavesdropped on Hilda's meeting with "some Italian guy who wouldn't shut up about Beluga whales". Parker recognises that to be Giuseppe, and it all clicks: Wizzzard Entertainment is running a Europe-wide smuggling ring... and Hilda is going to dispose of Jenkins.
Meanwhile, in the schloss, Gretchen has stumbled across a hidden room, where Giuseppe and two other Wizzzard park managers are chatting. They don't know why Hilda has called them all to a meeting, but Giuseppe says he is planning to retire. They discover Gretchen listening, and she runs off to tell JJ what she heard. Of course, JJ doesn't want to know - much to Gretchen's frustration. With Dodgy Eric (currently unconscious on JJ's bed) having found her a buyer for the Vermeer, JJ says she just wants to sell her painting, grab Bette, and get out of there. An irate Bette bursts in, accompanied by Parker, and demands that JJ abandons her plan to sell the painting.
But before JJ can make up her mind, a sinister figure arrives, gun in hand. Bohdanko - the Russian gangster who tailed her from Japan, and beat up Eric for information in Amsterdam - has come to collect his prize.

Previously: Crammed together in the same Eurobear costume, Thomaz and Bette have been eavesdropping outside Hilda's office as she speaks to her associate Giuseppe. They hear her mention "The Committee" before Thomaz helps Bette escape via an Elves of Europe boat. He tells her that he regularly escorts mysterious visitors to Hilda's office, and then to hidden rooms in the castle. Bette swears she's going to find those rooms. Meanwhile, Gretchen, having escorted a wounded Eric to JJ's room, finds one of these secret rooms - behind a bookcase deep in the crumbling castle. JJ finds Eric convalescing in her bed after being attacked by Bohdanko - the same gangster who nearly killed her in Tokyo. She is horrified that he got as far as finding Eric in Amsterdam, but Eric assures her he didn't tell Bohdanko anything that could lead him to her. But that's not all - Eric has found a buyer for the Vermeer, and JJ reluctantly agrees to go ahead with the sale. Meanwhile, Parker hitches a lift to Dunkelschloss with a slightly unsettling lorry driver, who has noticed a huge increase in the number of Wizzzard Entertainment trucks on the road...
In this episode: Parker and Bette have a revelation at Dunkelschloss, Gretchen thrusts JJ deeper into the mystery, and trouble comes to town...

Previously: Convinced that he is hiding something, Margot searches Jenkins' office. A panicked Davina radios to tell her that Jenkins is heading straight for her. When Jenkins arrives, Margot tells him she has been reminiscing about the days after the Mockery Manor fire. After they share an uncomfortable slow dance, Jenkins asks Margot what she is really doing there.
Meanwhile, Bette borrows JJ's spare Dunkelschloss staff uniform so she can investigate in the park unnoticed. They agree to reconvene at the Schloss later that night. JJ does not yet know that Gretchen has escorted an injured Dodgy Eric to her room.
Dressed as Eurobear, Thomaz escorts Giuseppe (manager of another Wizzzard Entertainment attraction) to Hilda's office in the Elves of Europe ride. While Thomaz waits outside, he is startled by Bette, who has followed them in. Exasperated, Thomaz insists that Bette steps inside the Eurobear suit with him, so as to avoid Hilda's security cameras. Together in the suit, they listen at Hilda's door. She says that "The Committee" will be here soon, and that there will be a reckoning.
In this episode: Bette continues investigating, Parker makes his way to Dunkelschloss, JJ falls back into old bad habits, and Gretchen makes a discovery...

Previously: In a flashback, Gretchen performs with her band Frostwald in the Dunkelschloss Battle of the Bands, but bandmate Gunther seems distracted. He tells her that something big is about to happen in the park. He has, of course, since disappeared.
In the present day, JJ realises she cannot possibly sell the Vermeer, and breaks down in front of Bette, while Thomaz leaves to find Gretchen. JJ reveals that she arrived to drop off the painting in a Tokyo apartment to find her contact dead, and Russian gangster Bodhanko waiting to kill her, only narrowly escaping herself. Broke as they are, the twins agree they have no choice but to work for Jenkins.
Meanwhile, Parker realises that Matty knows nothing about Smithy, and has been toying with him. But something Matty says hits home. Why does Jenkins keep taking the law into his own hands? What kind of man would do that? Desperate to escape, Parker phones the twins and tells them he is coming to Dunkelschloss.
In this episode: Bette poses as JJ to spy on Hilda, Thomaz gets roped in to help, and Margot's investigation continues...

Previously: Gretchen storms off once she realises that the twins will not help in her search for answers about her missing friend, Gunther. Bette reveals she has a child, and asks JJ to co-operate with Jenkins' plan. JJ refuses, unwilling to tie her fortunes to Mockery Manor. She has a better plan for them both: sell the stolen painting.
Thomasz reveals it's worth a lot more than she originally thought - $200 million.
Back at Mockery, Parker asks Jenkins where he buried Smithy's body, and Jenkins tells him that Smithy isn't dead. Elsewhere, Margot and Davina meet to discuss Jenkins and some troubling 'accountancy discrepancies'.

Previously: JJ went to the Cuckoo Hotel to ask Bette why she'd asked her to spy on Hilda. Mid-conversation, they discover Tomasz spying on them, and it emerges that Hilda had asked him to spy on JJ. Bette becomes convinced the reason is 'industrial espionage'... until Gretchen bursts in to tell them that it's worse than that, and she suspects her friend was killed by Hilda.
Elsewhere, at the high security prison, Parker asks Matty to tell him everything he knows about the man called 'Smithy' who Jenkins offed many years ago. Matty refuses until Parker comes back with info on where Jenkins hid the body. In Amsterdam, gangster Bohdanko questions Dodgy Eric about JJ's whereabouts.
In Germany, Hilda makes phonecalls to bring the mysterious Wizzzard 'Committee' together, so they can decide what to do about Jenkins.

Hilda meets with Thomasz on the Little Mermaid Seafoam Rapids and instructs him to get closer to JJ – seduce her if he must. Hilda believes Jenkins sent JJ to Dunkelschloss for a reason, and she wants to know what it is. Elsewhere, JJ is approached by a strange woman – it's Bette, in disguise. Bette gives JJ a letter from Mockery, a spy camera and a listening device, and leaves as quickly as she came. Back in England, Parker is clearly traumatised from the events of three years ago. Kelly tells him he needs 'closure'. Parker is inspired and resolves to talk to someone who can give him answers. JJ reads the letter. It's from Jenkins, who tells her to bug Hilda's phone and take photos of the contents of Dunkelschloss's lorries. Thomasz arrives and JJ asks him to drive her to the village. Elsewhere, Danil and Bohdanko have heard something interesting on the criminal grapevine – a man called Dodgy Eric has been making indiscreet enquiries while trying to sell a Vermeer. Bohdanko is dispatched to Amsterdam to have a word with him. In the final scene, Parker is led into a prison room and comes face-to-face with... Matty.
In this episode - JJ demands answers from Bette, Gretchen steps up her investigation, and Parker faces his past demons.

Previously: JJ takes the scenic route to Hilda's office by riding The Elves of Europe and jumping off the boat at the Italy show scene. Using Hilda's phone, JJ contacts Dodgy Eric (her old flame, and generally an unsavoury character), and asks for his help selling her mysterious package - a stolen Vermeer painting - which he agrees to do. She is then escorted by Tomasz to her lodgings in the semi-derelict schloss at the centre of the park, which has no toilets. Meanwhile, Bette unexpectedly arrives at Mockery Manor and tells Margot, Jenkins and Parker that she has had a baby and needs a job. Jenkins presses her into spying on Hilda and the Dunkelschloss operations. Later that evening, JJ meets Gretchen sneaking around the park. They part ways at the toilets in Baba Yaga Land, but Gretchen tells JJ to be careful... She thinks there is something going on in the park. Something dangerous. JJ laughs and says "that's statistically unlikely".
In this episode: Tomasz reports to Hilda, the twins are reunited in the Black Forest, and Parker starts an investigation of his own.

Previously - Flashing back to New Year's Eve 1990, a disillusioned Bette leaves her pilled-up sister partying with strangers on a Thailand beach, and finds herself spilling her emotions to Chet, an American traveller. Chet invites Bette to come with him to the Himalayas to find inner peace, which she does... without JJ. Flashing forward to the present (1992), Hilda teaches JJ to drive the People Cart in the Vegetable Patch, Dunkelschloss's dullest edu-tainment offering. JJ panics at the mention of a ride called the Trousers Meowsers Mega Coaster, and Hilda informs her that they sometimes swap attractions with Mockery Manor. She also reveals that JJ will be staying in the semi-derelict schloss (castle) during her stay. Meanwhile, at Mockery Manor, Jenkins presses Parker to contact JJ and task her with spying on Hilda, whom he suspects is running an "illegal operation" from the German park. To their surprise, Bette then arrives at Mockery Manor and asks whether Margot's offer of a full-time job still stands. Finally, back in Tokyo, shadowy figures are disposing of a body. It seems unlikely that "the girl" is their colleague's killer, but they are determined to find her and retrieve the item she was supposed to deliver - a priceless, stolen Vermeer. In this episode: a desperate Bette is given a mission, while JJ seeks help from an unsavoury contact, settles into her new lodgings, and makes an unlikely friend. Previously on Mockery Manor: Everything is open, but Parker hasn't been seen for days, as he is now living in the Manor house. Emma tells JJ that Parker has Sonia's stolen charm bracelet (despite everyone thinking JJ is the thief), and tells her to make Parker give it back. Furious, JJ sneaks into the Manor to find Parker. He tells her that he is now head of security, and has been keeping an eye on everyone while dressed as Mr Crackles. In costume, he gives JJ the bracelet during the parade. JJ is shocked to discover a tag belonging to her Auntie Janet's dog Harvey attached to the bracelet. At that moment, Sonia, who is dressed as Queen Booboos, falls hard from the top of a parade float. Previously on Mockery Manor: JJ is caught in the park after hours by Manager Norton, but fools him into thinking she's Bette - her twin sister. Meanwhile Parker investigates a high-pitched scream, and finds a terrified Matty cowering in a supply cupboard, having seen "a big cat". Parker leaves him, laughing, and bumps into Emma, who has Sonia's bracelet in her possession (which everyone thinks JJ has stolen) and he takes it from her. Parker then realises Matty is right: Winnie, a cougar kept by Margot in secret, has escaped. Parker tracks Winnie to the Heart of Darkness ride, and finds her eating the body of Nick, the caretaker. Horrified, Parker calls Jenkins, whose suspicions are now confirmed. People are being murdered in the park... again. In this episode: the park is now open! A frustrated JJ is determined to get some answers... and more blood is shed. For full info and credits, visit www.longcatmedia.com/mockery-manor Enjoying the series?
