170. Courting the Divine with Teagan West of The Altar

In this episode, I share a conversation with the very magnetic and wise Teagan West of The Altar.

Teagan is one of the three 13th Readers for The Magician’s Table this year.

Teagan West (they/she) is an Astrologer, Ayurvedic Practitioner, Poet + Dancer living on Haudenosaunee Land in Upstate NY. Their personal praxis exists at the intersection of Ritual, Ancestral Legacy, and Dance as an embodied liberation practice. Teagan's relationship to Astrology is deeply Ancestral in nature, rooted in an animist cosmology of relating to the celestial bodies as more-than-human kin. Their people come from Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Ireland + North America, and are a formative part of Teagan's own relationship to the sky as a mirror. Teagan weaves mythopoetic storytelling and ritual praxis into their relationship to Astrology, bridging these Ancient ways of knowing with our modern interpretations of the cosmos.

The only applications I decline are those where it’s very clear the applicant hasn’t read the course page and doesn’t understand the structure and intensity of this offering, or when the applicant reveals that they do not have the emotional or somatic capacity to hold the energy of this transformation right now.
