It was around 3PM on the 4th of July, 2010, when the distinctive smell of gas wafted up the nostrils of residents on Slateford Road in Edinburgh, Scotland. As firefighters were called, some neighbours assembled outside out of fear of an explosion. As they gathered around the neighbourhood, a woman appeared on a second-floor balcony of one of the townhouses. She was inconsolable as she screamed: “My children!”
