Join me with Dr Nick Thompson - Holistic Vet - as we discuss how well known medications prescribed commonly by veterinarians impact your Dogs gut and overall health. As we dive deep into how the different drugs cause harm, we also explore what you can do if you find yourself in a situation where your Dog needs medication and how you can support their gut to maintain their health while doing so (we may have gotten a little side tracked into other controversy too - but what's a bit of controversy between friends!)
About Dr Nick Thompson:
Dr Nick Thompson is otherwise known as the gut doctor and has been a practicing holistic veterinarian for over 30 years. Covering modalities such as natural nutrition, herbal medicine and homeopathy, Dr Nick helps animals worldwide with their ongoing health problems.

In this episode I am joined by Dr Alice Seredynska from Harmony Veterinary Care. We're talking about the missing piece of understanding our dogs health - our connections with them and their emotional and spiritual wellbeing. We're discussing how failing to understand our pets emotional needs and not dealing with our own stress can leave them open to health problems and prevent efficient recovery, and explore why meeting our pets needs in this way is sometimes all that's needed to promote their overall health. Join us for such an inspiring conversation, and learn how to tune in to your pets emotions too.

Canine cancer is a rising epidemic and it is estimated that over half of the dogs today will get cancer at some point in their life, with some dogs suffering at only 3 years old. This episode uncovers how cancer specialist Dr Judy Jasek uses a whole being, whole body approach to healing and supporting cancer in our Dogs. With over half of her patients being cancer patients, Dr Judy explains the importance of positive energy, wholesome food, detoxification and improving quality of life when dealing with this terminal disease, as well as the other modalities we can turn to for support outside of conventional practices and how as pet parents we also have an important part to play. We also discuss how failing to meet our pets emotional and spiritual needs can impact their physical health and prevent them from healing and discuss how nutrition is the foundation to optimal health.

Dr Judy then created a more streamlined practice model and increased her specialization in practicing the terrain paradigm, emphasizing the importance of species-appropriate nutrition augmented by natures’ aides in healing including herbs, homeopathy, ozone and mistletoe and also highly recommends the use of hands-on modalities such as acupuncture, chiropractic and massage.
Dr Judy believes that true healing requires supporting not only the physical body, but includes the mental, emotional, and environmental aspects of the pet’s terrain as health is the natural state of the body, and her goal is to help pets regain natural vitality.

Pet parents beware - if you routinely give your Dog chemical flea, tick or worm treatments every single month or on a regular basis you NEED to listen to this episode.
Dr Judy Morgan joins me to discuss a topic that is close to her heart and kindly shares with us her intensive knowledge and advice about these kinds of products.
During the episode we discuss how isoxazoline flea, tick and worm products that many pet parents feel pressured into giving their pets every month (without being informed about the side effects involved) contain neurotoxins that can lead to a variety of horrific side effects such as seizures and sometimes, even sudden death.
We explore what symptoms might look like, how corruption passes the blame, what we can do to support our pets instead and how to be confident in making decisions for our pets.
Dr Judy wholeheartedly advocates for pet parents to have informed choices and inspires confidence for us all to stand up for our pets when making decisions on their behalf, even when that might not fall in line with traditional methods.

This episode got me EXCITED! Excited for what's coming for us to be able to really support our pets through focusing on and nourishing the key players in their health - the microbiome. Carol Hughes is the leading expert in the canine microbiome and has studied profiles of dogs for over 14 years, in this episode we uncover what's really going on in our Dog's guts, how the dog is in a state of crisis that needs action from all of us to help them recover and how we can achieve that in the simplest way. The microbiome is really the most fascinating and crucial component of our dog's health, and we should give it the credit and care it deserves. I hope you love this episode - and if you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out. Microbiome analysis and support is always fundamental to any of my holistic health plans and should be in yours too!
About Carol Hughes:
Carol Hughes of Biome 4 pets is one of the leading experts in the Canine microbiome and has been involved in the canine microbiome since 2014 which started with researching the microbiome of overweight dogs which discovered a natural plant compound that worked to reduce weight in dogs and horses without changing the diet.
Following this discovery Carol then went on to do a gut microbiology degree course at Aberystwyth university which was run by some of the world's leading gut microbiologists and focused on the relationships between the bacteria and how the microbiome could be manipulated to improve health.
From that learning, Carol and her team began to further define Biome 4 pets to focus on how to manipulate and restore the microbiome and make it resilient using active plant compounds.
This led into a further 4 years of research relating to inflammation of the microbiome, which still continues today, into discovering which bioactive plant compounds can modulate the microbiome's rebalancing and restoration process
Carol has been involved in this area of research with Bangor and Aberystwyth Universities since 2009, has presented at the European College of Integrated Veterinary Nutrition, British Association of Veterinary Herbalists, Kew Gardens, The Fine Bioactive Compounds from Plants Conferences (Bangor University) and the National Dog Expo last year and this

I am so excited to share this episode with you, as Susan Thixton is changing the game in achieving transparency for consumers with pet foods, and has worked tirelessly for over 20 years to bring inside information to light so that pet parents can make informed decisions about the foods they choose for their beloved pets; and feel confident that it is in fact high quality. We discuss some of the hidden ingredients in commercial foods, what it's like going up against the grain and experiences of attending regulatory meetings. Susan really is a pioneer in setting higher standards for our pets, and has uncovered some shocking truths along the way.

Susan published Buyer Beware, The crimes, lies and truth about pet food in 2011 which sheds light on some of the shocking facts behind the all too familiar food we feed our pets and provides insight into why we should be taking a closer look beyond the bowl.

I am joined by a very special guest in this episode, the Alternative Vet Dr Lise Hansen and we're discussing (among other things) the importance of the new World Small Animal Veterinary Association's 2024 Report on how veterinary surgeons, pet paraprofessionals and pet parents should avoid neutering their cats and dogs in order to prevent health issues throughout life. Over the past decade research has been conducted and found links between neutering and the development of cancer, immune issues, allergies, joint problems and more - and now it's officially advised against by the worlds leading veterinary experts and professors in the field. A highly important topic as we advocate for the world to catch up with this announcement, and I'm so grateful to have shared this with Dr Lise.

About Dr Lise Hansen:
Dr Lise Hansen , otherwise known as the alternative vet, decided to be a vet at 12 years old, and has now been a veterinary surgeon for 31 years. Not long after graduating in 1994 Dr Lise became trained in acupuncture and homeopathy, and has successfully been running a homeopathic referral practice since 1998 that has been spread over three clinics in both Denmark and here (the UK). Dr Lise published her book ‘ The complete book of cat & dog health’ in 2019, and throughout her entire career has been a huge advocate for encouraging informed choices and agency for pet parents including shouting loudly for changes in the way we so easily ‘neuter’ and ‘vaccinate’ our pets by sharing an alternative view of how we can care for them together. As well as running a successful practice and advocating for change, Dr Lise also speaks internationally to other veterinary surgeons and pet parents about homeopathy and other alternative methods of caring for our pets.

Today I am chatting with Michelle from Freddie and Friends Dog Training. Join us as we dive deep into the world of catering to the needs of our precious senior dogs through the wonderful world of fresh & raw food. We're discussing what foods are best to support our dog's as they age, how fresh food helps them adjust to ageing but keeps them young; and of course a few of the issues with commercial 'senior dog food'. In today's Dog Walk Daily I explain why I no longer use 80/10/10 mixes when feeding my dogs their raw food. These views are based on personal experiences I had with my dogs in trying to find balance with their meals that suited their needs based on bone content, food sensitivities and all rounded nutrition. For me, we need to be doing more than 80/10/10's when it comes to dog nutrition, and unless you know the exact ratio of the raw components in your 80/10/10 mix it's hard to know if your dog is getting enough...that's not to say you need to do DIY - but you 100% need additional extras.

Dog walk daily is my new shorts show where I discuss the natural ways we can adapt our lifestyles to benefit our dogs.
To kick off the new season we're exploring how we can make our own dehydrated treats for our dogs from whole foods, so that we can reduce the toxic load they are exposed to on a daily basis. Lots of treats available in large pet shops and supermarkets contain low quality ingredients and chemical preservatives that can have detrimental impacts on our dogs health.
Deceptive marketing from pet food companies can mislead us into thinking that certain treats are healthy options by concealing or splitting ingredients, and it can become quite confusing and overwhelming when trying to find healthy options.
By dehydrating your own dog treats you can take control over the quality over what foods your dog eats giving you peace of mind that your dog is eating guilt free, wholefoods that will promote their health instead of hinder it... and it will save you money in the long run!
If you have any questions about dehydrating dog treats or would like some tips on how to do it - check out my Instagram or send me a DM!

Today I am discussing how making connections in my Dog Borris' epilepsy history helped me pinpoint that my own stress was having an impact on his condition. In today's episode I'm talking to Ang, the proud mamma of 6 beautiful border collies and Raw Feeding Plus in Morecambe. We explore how over the past 20 years Ang has questioned herself , her vets & her decisions in the face of health issues with her dogs that has led her down a path of self-directed research for different avenues of natural health care.
We discuss how natural methods & raw feeding helped her Collie Jess overcome a terminal lymphoma diagnosis at 3 years old without the use of chemotherapy (she is now 11!) & how a different health issue with each of her dogs ultimately ended up in a holistic health plan without her even realising it.
Ang also explains how we can achieve optimal health with a balance over time approach to nutrition & why deciding to go against vets advice is one of the most difficult things we face as pet parents but sometimes going with our gut is what we need to do.
This is such an amazing episode - Ang is so passionate about natural health and well-being for her dogs and it shines through with everything we discuss 🧡

Today I'm talking about how as pet parents we have a responsibility to educate ourselves on the risks our pets face on a daily basis so we can make informed decisions in their best interest. Join me with my good friend Helena for a chat about the chaos of being immersed into the small doggy-biz life! We talk passions for change and look at Helena’s newest achievement of studying Zoopharmacognosy; a study of supported self-medicine for your dog. This fascinating field focuses on our dogs as individuals and uses the power of nature to let dogs heal themselves using tools they choose - it’s easily one of the most inspirational holistic techniques used in integrative care I’ve seen!

Today I am sharing part of my Mindset Masterclass to explore how being in a fixed mindset can physically prevent us from making the changes we want to with regards to our Dog's food and creates a barrier to learning new things. Your mindset is your greatest weapon in life, and if you want to make those long lasting changes and jump on the fresh food train for your Dog, you have to adopt a growth mindset for success! 🐾

This week me and Danielle talk about how Chip’s gut issues as a puppy led her into the world of raw and natural feeding and how this has changed her whole perspective on shopping for superfoods for her pets. We explore how shopping for dog foods and supplements is confusing, the ways they help Chip overcome his picky eating habits and how sometimes…mainly all of the time, we travel out of our comfort zone for the sake of our pets.

Fresh food for dogs can seem overwhelming when we don’t know much about it, especially when we have fragile Dogs who need extra support. Today me and Roisin are discussing how having her Bulldog Nina has helped her become educated around foods for both herself and Nina to make better choices, the steps involved to cater for Nina’s individual needs and how fresh foods have seen their beautiful bond go from strength to strength.

Pet loss is something that will affect all of us one day, if it hasn’t already, and it’s definitely not just us who feel the pain. This week I’m opening up with Simmone about how losing one of our fur babies impacts us and our pets as we try to navigate a new normal without them; and what this could mean for those that are left behind as they travel to the Rainbow Bridge. If you are struggling with pet loss, always know that you are not alone, it is not silly and please please do find support; my DM’s are always open and so are Simmone and Blue’s; we may not be able to ease your pain but we do understand, and we are here for you…always!

Choosing which diet to feed your dog can be overwhelming, especially when there are so many different views on what is the ‘best type’ of diet. In this episode, I’m chatting with Gigi about dealing with the struggles of trying different diets, comparing yourself to others when trying to feed the dog in front of you, and why your own lifestyle should play a part in deciding what’s best for your dog. We explore how each dog is an individual, the pet parent mindset and how sometimes a combination of all diets and routines could be what’s best for you.

Join me with Gabriella, mamma to Maggie Bullmastiff, as we discuss the struggles with hormonal and behavioural changes during seasons, what phantom pregnancies can look like and how they navigated through such difficult times together throughout the first few years of Maggie’s life. We also explore the real anxiety we experience when our furbabies are unwell, and how this fuels our passion for self-education. Hello and welcome to my new podcast. This podcast explores honest, real life experiences of pet parents and professionals navigating their journeys with their pets into the natural world and how these experiences help shape their unique journeys into natural healing and beyond. We hope to inspire and entertain pet parents worldwide by delving deep into trials, tribulations and triumphs during light hearted discussions between friends. First up is my personal story of how my own painful experiences with my pets helped me grow from being someone who had dogs, into someone who is motivated to learn everything about dogs and how we can help them live the happiest, longest lives possible by tuning into nature and connecting with our natural environment. This is a safe space for everyone, and we respect dogs and people as individuals in this world. We hope you love listening as much as we love talking about dogs.
