Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of 2 Corinthians 12:9 which says "9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me."
" In one of the devotionals I said the words, “Jesus isn’t looking for a perfect friend, He already has a perfect father”
This thought of perfection can really cripple me from time to time. Many times I want to operate on a strict system or schedule that doesn’t leave any room for mistakes. I get frustrated when I don’t meet my expectations.
I really do get hard on myself and I am not sure if you are familiar with the feeling. I am the kind of person who writes down list after list. I highlight goal over goal. On Monday’s I will go to the gym at 4:00 pm and on Fridays I will read a chapter before I get on with my day.
Obviously these are examples, but when I don’t complete the things I set out for myself I get upset. I am quick to feel as if I do not have the strength to overcome my strongholds and I often forget to lean on God through that time. He really should be my first choice, Today I hope to remember that every time I feel as if I lack, or as if I am weak, I remember the strength that God gives us. I hope you do too. "
