Pookie forces himself to believe his instincts and not his eyes as he investigates another homicide strangely connected to Bryan. As reality makes less sense, Pookie and Bryan find some comfort in the familiar police working of canvassing for witnesses. Meanwhile, across town, Rex finds comfort in the unfamiliar — his own strength. He discovers that he is changing, changing in ways that defy explanation.
