This is the second episode in our two-part special Sculpture Series. On this podcast Juliet is in conversation with British bronze expert, restorer and conservator Lucy Branch.
Lucy comes from a family of restorers and art historians and is incredibly passionate about bronze public statues, sculpture and historical architectural features. Her education, knowledge and experience is vast and she shares her understanding of metals, chemistry, research and practical elements which all are part of her work as a accredited member of the Institute of Conservations.
Her work as a Director at Antique Bronze has led her to run high profile conservation projects such as Nelson's Column, Buckingham Palace and the Queen Victoria Memorial.
As well as her invaluable work with public statues and sculpture she is also a successful published author of a series of art history based fiction novels, which are credited as Adventures for Art Lovers, and nonfiction bronze related publications.
Lucy is also the host of the Sculpture Vulture podcast and has worked on sculptures by both Simon Gudgeon and Hugh Chapman who are represented by the Nordic Art Agency.
