Olivia Babel - In Conversation

On this episode Juliet is in conversation with Guest Artist Olivia Babel.

Olivia is a French fiber artist who is based in Lyon and works exclusively with contemporary tapestries. We were initially drawn to her work and unique compositions which reflect origin, cartology and the environment and invited Olivia to exhibit in our current International Art Pop Up.

In this conversation we explore the emotional connections found in Olivia work and her use of material and hand-weaving practice.  All her works are created on the loom using natural fibres, twine, ribbon and velvet exploring texture and rhythms through weaving.
