Exciting British abstract painter and installation artist Sara Dare is the guest on this episode of the podcast.
Sara Dare typically works on a large-scale using paper, linen and canvas combined with a range of mediums, selected for their viscosity and finish, such as ink, oil, emulsion and acrylic.
Her paintings seek an evocative experience or visceral negotiation with the viewer, initially playful or peaceful followed by a sense of unease or tension. Connecting to her painting on a physical or emotional level can also lead to a sense of unsettlement. Sara confesses in our conversation to almost sabotaging elements of beauty or perfection in favour of an authentic, human and historical practice developed through her use of colour, brushwork and material.
The Nordic Art Agency is delighted to represent Sara Dare exclusively in Scandinavia and you can view more of her work over on her Instagram.
We shall be exhibiting Sara Dare's painting at our Spring Art Pop Up at Hansa from April 30th - May 30th where we shall feature a new series of nine artworks alongside other international painters.
Follow the Nordic Art Agency gallery on Instagram to discover more about our artists and exhibitions. We would also love for you to rate our podcast so that more people can find us and learn more about the international contemporary artists that we represent.
